I'm a #Prequelist. They're trash movies but the underlying story of Palpatine and the Clone Wars are legit.Ooooh this is great news.
The more the better IMO. If any of it sucks i'll just ignore it like the prequels.
I love the Marvel Netflix shows but Agents of SHIELD is trash, for example.

Man they're so bad it's hard to appreciate anything from them. I'll go to my grave wanting to see the Topher Grace edit.
Anybody find any spoilers?

I still say the swerve for the movie is gonna be that Rey is Luke and Leia's child![]()
Anakin is the chosen one, period. It's not up for debate in my opinion, at least not in established canon.Random question:
This is the saga of the Skywalker name, according to many, and the quest to bring "balance" to the Force.
But what does "balance" mean????
No more Sith?
No more Jedi OR Sith?
Jedi and Sith existing together, without combat, exploring all aspects of the Force and learning how to channel fear/anger/hate/wisdom/peace in useful ways without needing to battle?
I'll hold to the Grey Jedi theories, and my own personal belief that Luke bringing "balance" to the Force wasn't that he killed the emperor or that he WILL destroy evil once and for all, but rather that he will learn that both sides of the Force are necessary within the universe, and that's why he's being so emo and hiding out after the disaster with Kylo and the academy or whatever.
The tension we see in the trailers is probably because he knows how wrong things will go if he tries to bring his new beliefs to light.

If you want to have your mind blown before The Last Jedi, watch the "Mortis" trilogy from The Clone Wars animated series.
- Overlords
- Altar of Mortis
- Ghosts of Mortis
Seeing it 8pm Thursday. I am nervous because I think it is critical that this movie is amazing. If it is true that they are planning tv shows and another trilogy and everything they have to nail this one. TFA was entertaining but the similarities with ANH were just too much for me. This can't just be TESB with new characters.

Very much disagree. Rogue One had that dope space battle at the end, but I couldn't have cared less about any of the characters. I fell in love with Rey the second we met her. I also think Rogue One required more "outside homework" to really appreciate. You may think you knew what was going on, but unless you read the novel Catalyst, you really didn't.Pretty much my thoughts... TFA was okayish on first viewing but it's hard to get past the obvious rehashed plot AND the fact that so much of the story is not really explained (you shouldn't have to be a massive SW pep viewing/reading every side story/show to know wtf is going on) with the NO v Resistance... It also feels super freakin lazy how they just took the Republic out like that. I'm hoping for something new that also doesn't shit on or semi reboot the original movies further.
Rouge One did make me mush more optimistic about the non Skywalker films though, that was the first legit good Star Wars movie since the OG trilogy imo. Hopefully that continues.
Very much disagree.
I figured you would honestly and it's all good... I stand by everything I said. My expectations for TLJ are really low... my expectations for the next SWStory film(s) are much higher. I'm on the other side of the fence with the characters too. None of the new Skywalker film characters really grabbed me in TFA. I'm not saying "I couldn't care less," but I'm heading in that direction.

Also, I really don't understand the "this is repetitive" complaints. Repetitive is Star Wars. Star Wars is bad guys with super weapons and plucky heroes who shoot down TIE fighters in X-wings to save the day.
