I'd rather watch the Titans play the Raiders than Alabama play the Citadel, but I'd rather watch TCU play Baylor over both. College football between matched teams just hits different.
In my opinion, the amount of games in college, with much more wild betting lines, make college football so much better. Yes, many college football games are trash compared to the NFL but you know almost every week some huge underdog(s) is/are going to make things interesting against one of the powerhouses.

Since I live in SoCal and I'm a veteran I get offers from VetTix for different events around here from time to time. Well it just so happens that one of the events was Michigan vs. USC at the Coliseum, so I entered the lottery and now I have tickets to that game. Have you ever been to a game where you hate both teams? I know the stadium is going to be full of assholes. Personally I think Michigan assholes are worse than USC assholes but an asshole is still an asshole.

I went to a USC vs UCLA water polo match at SC because my son's water polo team was invited by one of the coaches. Hell of a game. I wound up rooting for SC (I know) and it felt a little dirty, but not that dirty because it wasn't football and we were guests. UCLA won in OT. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to root for during the football game. I guess mutual destruction.
Definitely have and always will pull for USC over scUM. USC is our biggest rival but at least there's a measure of respect there. Doesn't help that I live in MI and have to listen to these assholes all of the time.

Definitely this. Saturdays in the fall are must watch TV for me, and not just ND. Sundays I could take or leave.

I think you nailed this. And it's the exact reason that hurtling toward a giant playoff or (worse) a "super-league" is such a travesty.

We will go from "holy crap, App State may actually pull this off at the big house!" to "oh well, michigan still probably makes the 32-team playoff if they go 6-4 in the B1G" ... if we aren't there already :/

yeah the problem with emphasizing a playoff now is that regular season games lose their value, you just end up like the MLB and NBA

For entertainment and passionate fans? I think so. For enforcing rules? I'd give it to the NFL, but they've had their own issues.

The NFL is a cultural phenomenon. The Super Bowl, fantasy football, gambling.

Most of the people on my street know who Patrick Mahomes is. They don't know who Arch Manning is, but they know all of his relatives.

I'd rather watch the Titans play the Raiders than watch Alabama play Citadel. Football is ultimately the product, but the packaging is a lot different.
Yes, fantasy football would ah e me sit and watch and Colts Bears game and that’s brutal without fantasy implications. I LOVE fantasy and I care about players other than my own 10 teams…

College I watch the marque games but I’m slowly becoming a passive watcher of those games… if it was t for ND football I’d probably not watch or make time to.

I mean, if you HAVE to pull for one over the other, certainly USC over Michigan. Nobody is twisting our arms though...so I'm still praying for the meteor

if you lived here it wouldn't even be close. It's not a debate. USC over scUM lol

There's enough of those shitheads here in Ohio. I may respect USC, but that doesn't mean I'm going to cheer for them. I sure as hell ain't cheering for Michigan. You've got to have me by the nuts to make me root for one of them.

Give me Tuesday night MACtion over almost any NFL game.

Something great about watching a bunch of kids you don’t know at all, and just being able to enjoy football with no vested interest.

Nice break from stressful ND Saturdays, and watching the goddamn Bengals defense on Sundays.

Bro for reals. I love MACtion.

In the end, to each their own, but the NFL is still king. College football certainly is not scarce anymore. There are games everywhere just about every night of the week and with the amount of streaming services you can find just about anyone.

Well yeah, I'm not saying cfb is more popular than the NFL lol. I'm just saying if everyone had my tastes, it wouldn't be. I love sloppy football.

The over sanctimonious crowd really has nowhere to hide anymore when you consider that college QBs with NIL deals are making as much if not more money than some of the NFL QBs.

I know most suburban whiteys hate the NBA, but I find most college basketball to be completely unwatchable myself. College football and college BASEBALL are better products than college basketball for my money and time.

I like the NFL better overall, but I consume Notre Dame Football more than any of it in the end. I can't say that I prefer the college game overall.
