That would be a level 2 violation, which is nothing. You can have those all the time. The Level 1 violation, which is the problem, was for lying or misleading the investigators.
Supposedly bought them hamburgers and then lied about doing it. Receipt found later. This investigation has been going on for a while I guess.

Mean while over at UNC where you can skip classes and fudge marks it's business as usual.

Falsifying an affidavit is how Tressel ended up with a show cause. I’m all for burning the NCAA to the ground, but let’s not give Harbaugh a pass on perjury because the underlying matter was frivolous.

The NCAA has almost no power to enforce any penalty unless your like Notre Dame and just give it to them.

NCAA: “NCAA, wait can I can I actually do this?”

ND: “Yes, we humbly accept your most modest penalty. Shame on us, we’ve learned our lesson”.

This seems analogous to the Ohio State situation with Terrell Pryor, et al. The NCAA will probably look to punish Harbaugh personally.

How much probably depends on what he actually did. Tressel got a show cause for filing a false affidavit.
The meatchicken prick will probably get suspended for their next spring game and have to not wear his ugly ass khaki pants for the 1st 3-4 games next season. Meatchicken and Harbaugh SUCK!!!!!

Per The Athletic, the Panthers are officially out on Harbaugh, not interested. Rumor is he is at the top of Jim Irsay's list for the Colts' opening in addition to his Broncos interview this week.

I would have to imagine the Colts job is more attractive to Harbaugh for personal reasons as well as from a competitive standpoint; not sure if he would leave a tenured position to go compete against Mahomes and Herbert for a division with that dumpster fire of a situation in Denver.

I'm guessing it will be the Colts when all is said and done. Irsay and Harbaugh just seem made for one another.

Question becomes who Michigan goes after to replace him. Todd Monken from UGA and Matt Campbell are the names that have been coming up. PJ Fleck gets thrown in there too.

Going for a Kirby Smart lieutenant whose only HC stint was three years at Southern Miss would probably not please the Michigan masses. I think Matt Campbell is ultimately a paper tiger who will not have success outside of Iowa State.

Shane Beamer would really be a great hire if he were interested.

People really like Mike Hart - at least they did last year when this was going down.

Michigan would be smart to hire PJ Fleck over Matt Campbell, IMO.

If it’s not Hart then I see a few hurt feelings and maybe some transfers.

Start a prayer thread for Brady Hoke.

Any info? Or just a hunch?
Last year when it looked like Harbaugh was leaving they were going to promote Mike Hart. One of the primary reasons their OC left was because he asked to be considered and they said “lol not a chance we don’t even like you.”

It seems likely that it’ll be Moore or Hart this time around.

I feel like PJ's schtick, which seems fun at a place at WMU and Minnesota, would become unbearable at a place like Michigan.

Curious if they'd give Jesse Minter an interview; it would be very risky but he did a pretty remarkable job of helping people forget that Don Brown even existed.

I'm enjoying the thought of the conversation happening this way, word for word

Also, do you expect Harbaugh to the NFL is a done deal?
I think if he gets an offer it's a done deal; the fact that he's even entertaining conversations and interviews the year after he supposedly assured Warde Manuel that the hunt for an NFL gig "wasn't going to be an annual thing" tells you he wants to be back in the NFL more than anything.

The Vikings were the only team who showed real interest in him last year and ultimately passed on him, but this year he's on a short list of top-tier candidates with multiple teams reportedly interested.

This is hilariously accurate. He has quirkiness is easy to like at western Michigan and Minnesota but you put his personality at Michigan and he would be so unbearable.

It’s just their way. Trust in a Michigan Man, and all that. And to be fair given their recent success there is probably an argument for continuity.

But yeah they’ll be lucky to sustain what they’ve done the last couple years under a new coach. Even with Harbaugh it’s iffy. If he goes? Better hope Rhule or Fickell have the stuff because otherwise gonna be hearing a lot about Ohio State the next few years.

I thought Mel Tucker was going to be a problem in the B1G until he laid an egg in year three. They were so bad
