What’s funny about that is he thought he had an offer last year, told everyone he did & to look for a new job, said bye, and flew out to Minnesota to be told they were just interviewing him. LOL

I don’t think he knows what an offer really looks like?

It’s interesting that UM won the Joe Moore award two years in a row.
Last year UGA’s DL absolutely destroyed them.
I watched the following:

This is a fun show to watch because he always thinks Michigan is winning, but tears into them when they don’t.

He watched the all-22 view of the game & talks multiple times about Michigan’s OL being “lost.”
Said the most guys TCU ever rushed was 5. But almost every play it was only 3. Said that it confused the UM OL the entire game.
Said that even though UM ran for close to 200, it was a lot on the first play long run & a couple on long runs that weren’t important. Said on most important situations they got stuffed & “there were no holes” all night.

So he breaks down TCU’s 3-3-5 handling UM’s OL.

They’ve been in the playoffs two years in a row. The recruiting dip was the flirtation with the NFL. They cleaned up and filled holes with the portal. I could see the recruiting back up. We need the Michigan man to bounce for a mediocre NFL team. Especially this late in the off-season, that would be awesome.
This. He’s a really, really great coach. You have to be blindly biased to think otherwise. What he did at Stanford is impossible. Niners went from crappy team to contender the day he showed up. By year 2, Michigan was playoff contender. Now, back-to-back playoff appearances. I’d love him back in the NFL ASAP.

No thanks

It probably wouldn't happen but curious why no thanks?
We know Elston is an excellent developer of talent and locker room presence. Washington hasn't exactly killed it on the trail thus far and we've already lost one, potentially two, DLs from our two-deep to transfers. Would a trade of DL coaches be so bad?

Maybe just recruiting in general, NIL aside. It's turned into a 24/7 365 grind.
Gotta be this. Recruiting is an exhausting and tedious slog. Add in the Wiild West NIL era where a ton of effort can be undermined by another team's cash offer and suddenly the NFL seems a lot more appealing.

i always lol when coaches who basically put minimal/no effort into recruiting complain about the schedule being too taxing on them. You are getting generational wealth to do the job. If you dont want it go coach D3 or HS ball. After all most of them do it "because they love teaching/developing men" so why do they need to do it at D1 level?

I agree here, and I hate to admit it but there's no question that Harbaugh has a knack for developing players, and he took their recruiting class from dreadful to respectable after flirting with the NFL, and did a pretty nice job getting some key transfers to fill in the gaps.

Make no bones about it, they're not better off without him. I think it would have another negative impact on next year's recruiting class depending on who they hire.

The college football calendar is completely unreasonable for coaches
It seems to me like some coaches handle it better than others, and I'm sure longevity comes into play. Freeman seems like an absolute road warrior, the hardest working coach I can remember, but you have to wonder how long anyone can keep up that grind. I can only imagine the stress it puts on these coaches' wives and families. I'm sure at some point most wear down a bit and start delegating.

It helps that he seems genuinely interested in ND's mission and helping develop young players, both on and off the field. Nothing he has said over the past year has seemed like coach speak, his enthusiasm seems 100% genuine.

Saw a report earlier today that the Carolina panthers have been in contact with Jimmy.
