Why would Cam be interested in going from Michigan to LSU? UM isn't his alma matter, although he was a GA there it looks like. I'd be surprised if LSU let's him walk without a fight.

Why would an OC at Bama, under Saban, leave for the same position at Michigan?

Bizarre move if true.

Money and the 'fixer upper prestige'. If things go well in the next year or two as Michigan's OC (they see vast improvement), look for him to bolt to a high profile HC job. Bama has a lot of talent, Michigan has less. He will get more money and a bigger name for himself by succeeding there.

They must be dolling out the $$$$. Were already paying Borges an INSANE amount, have to think Nuss getting paid in the $800k range at Michigan.

This sucks, because now they will actually learn how to run the ball and develop competent game plans.

Is he good? Sorry, I'm genuinely clueless about him. I thought it was Alabama's D that was scary. I don't think he'll be able to run it at UM like he did at Bama.

Maybe he'll insure a few FCS schools are put on the schedule so that they shoot up the rankings in various offensive categories. Worked in TTown.

It's not like Bama's offense was Baylor, Oregon, or Auburn. It is smash mouth pro style that utilized Bama's superior OL and RBs. As Lax pointed out, UM doesn't have the RB talent Bama has and the OL talent isn't close.

From the article above:

Wolverine fans will hope that Nussmeier can make as fast an impact in Ann Arbor as he did in Tuscaloosa. Under Nussmeier's guidance, Bama set records for offensive touchdowns scored (68), total points (542), total offense (6,237) and passing touchdowns (31) in the 2012 season--his first with the Crimson Tide. Despite a rebuilt offensive line, Bama ranked No. 6 in the nation this season in yards per play (7.15) and were ranked third in the nation in that stat in games against ranked opponents (7.59).

I think I'm just more surprised that he was not on anyone's radar at all to make this move.

Known as a very good offensive mind as well as QB Guru - helped turned McCarron, Keith Price, Drew Stanton and Marc Bulger into very good QBs at their respective levels.

Michigan continues to be the luckiest team in the country. (I know this isn't really "luck" but w.e.)

@BrianHamiltonSI: Heard Doug Nussmeier was interested in #NotreDame OC gig. Staff wanted him. But Brian Kelly rejected idea. Wanted to change too much.

Alright. I'm just kind of meh. I'm sure he's probably good at his job, but I think people are seeing the word Alabama and overreacting a bit. The only thing I'd be scared of is if he brought Derrick Henry with him.

Either way we're done with them in a year. Worst case scenario they dominate the B1G and nobody cares.
