Wrangler goes to the same school as Shane Morris, De La Salle. His brother, Jack, is going as a preferred walk-on, and his Dad played at Michigan back in the day. Jared's school plays my school, Brother Rice (back-to-back division 2 state champs), every year so I'll see if I can watch him play. He does have a similar mold to Tranquill, does anyone know where Michigan wants him to play?

I don't watch other school's recruits highlights and so I'm always a bit relieved when I see this thread bumped and it's because Michigan is getting a 3-star recruit.

He's a 2-star on rivals. Does have an LSU offer.

Jared Wangler - Yahoo! Sports

Not saying stars are all that matter - but when I don't watch the film or follow the recruits, that's all I have to go by.

Wangler is a 3* on Scout, 247, and ESPN. 2* on Rivals.

listed between 6'1 and 6'2 and 205 and 220 pounds. Apparently Michigan wants him at SAM LB, which means he'll need to bulk up to around 240 at some point. Another LB became a need with Kaleb Ringer leaving the program. In all honestly if Vanderlinden at Penn State wants a LB badly, that's good enough for me, bc that guy just churns out quality LB's at an unbelievable rate.

I saw wrangler last year as a junior and I didn't notice anything special. He looked like every other player on their defense. Surprised he was even ranked.

While Damien Harris went nuts to the tune of 210 yds and 6 TDs, George Campbell had a rough night.... 2 catches for 10 yds and 2 fumbles. But hey, he has great size and speed!

Weird. There was a meatchicken Rivals article last week saying that Nicholson was one of their top remaining targets.

Roster space is tight. I think Nicholson is really good, but he's not the type like a Jabrill Peppers or JuJu Smith that you make room for regardless of numbers.

haha you're pushing IE'ers over the cliff tonight

Well keep saying everything is fine in ND land and watch as Michigan signs the top 2 players in the class. I will miss this game a lot but I won't miss playing them in the forseeable future. They caught up to us and are flying right by us. Another BCS game if not a NCG is in their future if they don't **** the bed.

ND just bad gameplaning not containing DG and Gallon was open all night and when he wasn't open he caught it anyway so he might as well been wide open. DG can throw but I think the second leading receiver was "everyone else" with 1 catch. IF DG plays like this all season ND will be looking at Sugar Shane Morris next year.

Update from 247:
-Would be a surprise if Hand committed anywhere but Michigan, but he's still got 2 officials to take. (My note: Michigan has some great inroads into Woodbridge because of Michigan alums coaching there and other things, but they've yet to actually close the deal on someone. I think they will with Hand, but I also wouldn't be shocked if Florida or Alabama made a run).
-Tim Settle is a great DT prospect also from NoVA, but different area than Woodbridge. He could end up anywhere from Bama to Virginia to Michigan. Seems wide open but Michigan visit going great.
-Jashon Cornell... they're selling him on their business program. Having a great visit. Getting love from other '15 commits Campbell and Harris. The Michigan writer is close to putting down a prediction for Michigan. (My note: has been trending away from ND for awhile now and towards Michigan. Lot of time left, but I don't expect ND to land him as things stand.).
-Tyrone Wheatley seems like a lock.

There was a time when I would have said that ND would win a Natty before UM. I no longer believe that.

only way either of them do is if a 1 loss SEC team doesn't get into the Championship....just like last year if K State would have went undefeated we would be the defending national champions.

Going to be a real fight for Jashon, but right now I see it going more towards Michigan. They are off to a great start with 2015 kids

It won't at all. And expect them to force people out via transfer. That's what they did with crappy Rich Rod players when Hoke took over.

Meh. If they do it will be because they have a ridiculously easy path to get there. With the advent of playoffs, I don't see it happening.

Their year to win it will be next year... with Gardner's extra year thanks to a fabricated back injury.

Michigan will always have droves of transfers. they dont have the "oh well I will just stay here and get a quality degree" type of guys that ND will always have. Check their roster out about 80% of them have general studies or undeclared majors.

They also scored in the lower half in the annual BCS Top 25 rankings for academics. It has been mentioned before that UM lives off their grad programs and not their undergrad work.

Perception is reality though. They are Michigan, not BoiseSt. They will get their credit if they play a total cream puff non-con plus the dregs of the BIG.

This whole thing sucks because we are back at square one next year and UM has rebuilt faster. I am not confident that Golson will be back and if he is a year out of football is not conducive to being an elite start at the position. I am glad they are off the schedule after next year because we wouldn't be able to compete with them.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Many of Michigan's grad programs are top notch and ranks highly nationwide. Their undergrad program, though still respectable, tends to be a state school regardless of what they are trying to sell.

They're gonna be a lot better next year, and our defense is gonna be significantly worse. We're losing 5 starters on that side of the ball and several important back-ups.

I am not confident that Golson will be back and if he is a year out of football is not conducive to being an elite start at the position.

We really need him back, because we're gonna be in a lot of shoot-outs.

I am glad they are off the schedule after next year because we wouldn't be able to compete with them.

No one can project with any accuracy where they'll be relative to us in 2015. They've been fortunate enough to have a dynamic QB under center for the last 4 years, while we've had sh!t luck in that department. But that can change at any time.
