Agreed. A suspension of four games (or whatever) is both an admission of guilt and a minimizing of that guilt. I don’t think that works when you’re talking about the head coach of a major program condoning domestic violence of one of his assistants. And I don’t think it will (or should) satisfy anyone. This isn’t a “learning experience,” like a player smoking pot.
He either did or didn’t knowingly lie here. It shouldn’t be hard to prove. And either he’s cleared of wrongdoing or the consequences are pretty serious.

Stoops had a long string of players with domestic violence incidents at Oklahoma. If Meyer gets canned, there is close to zero chance that Stoops would be his replacement.
