My guys got some good news tonight. Dylan Moses just announced that he's coming back for his senior season. After being a Butkus Award finalist as a sophomore in '18, he missed the entire '19 season due to a preseason injury.

Still waiting to see what Tua decides. I think he'll declare for the draft and still be a high pick (probably by the Dolphins at #4) but who knows. He's certainly hinted a lot lately that he's seriously considering coming back.

Some more good news out of Tuscaloosa. LT Alex Leatherwood, projected to be a 2nd round pick but possibly 1st round, was expected to declare for the draft, but announced he would be returning for his senior season.

Ha! Trust me, it'll happen soon enough. All good things must come to an end eventually. It may already be ending or it may go on another few years. I'm just trying to enjoy it while I can.

Alabama fans expect the following players to declare early for the draft. Most if not all are projected to be drafted in the top 100.

Possible Early Entrants (7)
Tua (depending on his health and projection, possibly second QB taken) - Announcement Jan 6
Jerry Jeudy - first WR off the board
Jedrick Wills - ROT
Xavier McKinney - S
Henry Ruggs, WR
Devonte Smith, WR
Najee Harris, RB

Announcing he will return (2)
Alex Leatherwood, LOT
Dylan Moses, LB - though may reconsider based on loss of value contract

Graduating without eligibility left (6) are:
Terrell Lewis, LB
Raewkon Davis, LB
Ben Davis, LB
Trevon Diggs, CB
Shyheim Carter, CB
Jared Mayden, S

Imagine your starting QB, RB, all your WRs, both Tackles, a top DE, all your starting LBs and the entire starting secondary except for one (Surtain), who are all rated as top 100 draftees - and all could enter the draft. Is it any wonder that Alabama fans had high expectations?

Joshua McMillan, LB - had an early season-ending injury and has been granted a sixth year, if he chooses.

It's Alabama … they'll simply reload and they'll gain experience playing against those weak-azz opponents they play at the beginning of each season (i.e. Georgia State, Kent State, etc.)!

Neutral site game vs Rutgers or Colorado or Syracuse will be a good warm up for Ga State.

Y'all know Bama plays SC to start next year, right?

Yeah, neutral site. This isn't going to be a U$C-type team of years during the John McKay, John Robinson or Pete "Poodle" Carroll timeframe! So, U$C now-a-days on a neutral site … meh! Bama should have it under control by halftime!

According to two individuals who are on the inside of the program Tua informed the coaching staff yesterday that he is returning next season. Guess we will see.

Wow. Unless he feels really good about his health going forward I can't imagine taking that kind of risk. I don't think he would have slipped outside the top 15 even with the injury concerns just because GM's know that passing on potential like his is the best way to get fired.

Not sure if this is a crazy move by Tua or not. If he returns next season and plays well, then he goes #2 in the draft. The $$ difference between #2 and #15 is large.

I don't understand Saban's obsession with exposing him to hits in blowout games, and I hope he learned his lesson. I doubt it though.

An Alabama site reports Dylan Moses is reconsidering his decision to return and not enter the draft. That depends on his Loss of Value insurance policy, which would make up the difference between where he was projected to be picked and where he would be picked due to his season-ending injury.

If - and I don't see why not - Tua has a similar insurance policy, he would be in the same situation for compensation.

Interesting article relating to Jaylen's policy and how schools are paying the premiums as a recruiting tool.
Jaylon Smith's insurance payout could lead to more players skipping bowl games

The other question is, if Tua comes back, what do you do if you are Mack Jones? Jones received his degree, so he could be a graduate transfer. (Oklahoma on Line 1) 247 projects him to have the third best chance of winning the Heisman next year behind Fields and Lawrence. Tualia burned his redshirt. Tyson redshirted and then Bryce Young just signed. If Young had just waited until the Feb signing day....

Or do you see a Hardship case looming for Young?

I think that's the only reason to come back. It's a huge risk but one he apparently may take. As far as Saban, I would hope he has learned that elite players don't always need another set of downs.

Tua and Lawrence in the same draft will lead to some serious tanking.

I would HATE it if my team drafted Tua. Very talented but is playing with perhaps the best set of college receivers in history and has no ability to stay healthy -- he has bust written all over him IMO.

Moses has a definite issue with the insurance. Can't blame him either way with the decision he ultimately makes. Reports are out that he is staying but who knows at this point.

Mac has plenty of options. He can enter the draft (some projections have him getting drafted in the later rounds), grad transfer (two years eligibility left), or come back next season. My money is on grad transferring somewhere. As far as Young, he knew there was a good possibility that Tua could return and still committed. He is probably going the RS route either way. As far as Tualia - doubt he ever sees that many meaningful snaps at QB for Bama and if so it would mean that big brother got hurt again, and Tyson isn't going to see the field unless it's mop up duty.

I don't disagree with you. But I think many NFL teams will grade him highly.

Helpful insight as always.

Let's say Tua returns. I would also expect Jones transfers with two years of eligibility. Young redshirts and is in a QB battle with Tualia in '21.

Such a great WR corps. I can only imagine Ruggs and Smith on different teams. They would have been their #1 receivers and be entering the '20 draft. Having seen Moses, and Tua as examples of a season-ending injuries is probably sobering. If Tua proves to be injury-prone or not as effective, their draft status in '21 drops. TEs as receivers in this offense are an afterthought.
Jeudy, Wills and Harris are gone. McKinney probably too.

College coaches are about what is best for the team, not the player. A player leaving early hurts the teams chances of winning which hurts the coach's prospects. A coach can spin it any way he wants to make himself look better like he cares about the kid but the truth is, it isnt about the kid.

And characterless scumbags like Saban are even worse.

I guess we should study our enemy at times... Love that Saban came from not too far away from me... Still have a hard time with anything Bama other than... ya gotta respect em.

So how many Bama dudes are going pro? Didn’t someone here claim they’d have a third of the first round picks in the draft......

Surprised they had a press conference to announce this. I'll be rooting for him, very likable guy with a lot of talent.
