Well he did make a terrible career move, and if the facbook page to buy his gf a condo is really the reason, then he probably isn't mature enough to handle ND. Leaving to pacify a gf you don't even know you'll be with in 50 yrs? Kinda lame. However, the panic button has been hit in South Bend, and the proverbial "Lynch Mob" (the one with nooses) is out to get Kelly. Seriously, people here in South Bend are BLAMING him for not making Aaron stay.

In my opinion, he's a great player, awesome, but we've got a great D Line, and when that qb situation works out, ND is gonna be a bitch to beat.

A woman just delivered a better analysis of the football team than 95% of the guys on here.

The end of days are near. :)

Anyone else kind of blame Tate Nichols for this?

Just another wonderful ND blunder I get to hear about while living in A2... Being an ND fan in these parts hasn't been so great as of late...

After reading Sampson's comments, I'm over it.

Lynch was not built for ND. He didn't want to stay until his Jr. year. He wasn't receptive to coaching.

KLM, Tuitt, Nix, Day, Houndshell, Schwenke, I Williams, Okwara, and Jones are still looming. DLine is in pretty good form.

I am sure his comments are similar to that of the staff at BGI.

Over it.

Well, at least we are totally set up for an ESPN Classic special -

"Nearly 25 years after its last national championship, the storied echoes of Notre Dame were seemingly about to fade into silence. Coaching changes, scandal, infighting between players and the coaching staff and even tragedy had rocked the program and, after falling far short of expectations in 2011 and an embarrassing 2nd half collapse to a severely short-handed FSU team, the program suffered the additional humiliation of two of its key coaches unexpectedly leaving the program to join anathematized Urban Meyer's staff in Columbus, followed by key recruiting defections that included three 5 star and two 4 star talents in positions of need. As the program attempted to recuperate in the Spring, it proceeded to lose perhaps its most important game changer on defense, Aaron Lynch, to a transfer. Reports circulated that the punter was the 2nd strongest player on the team. Star nosetackle Louis Nix was demoted to 2nd string for lack of effort and top talent Ishaq Williams nearly transferred along with Lynch. Huge question marks existed at the key positions of Quarterback and Cornerback and the staff struck out at several key targets on the recruiting front. Seemingly unwinnable games loomed against USC, Oklahoma and Stanford. The entire football program appeared to be on the verge of its 3rd collapse in the past decade, one which it might not be able to survive.... None could have imagined that this was the backstory of the team that would end the 2012/2013 as the undefeated BCS National Champion."

Well, until loss 1, we can hope can't we?

BK did a great job.... Aaron man him and Teo are my Boys.... Wish him luck Not against ND...

Next man in i agree we still have a killer Defensive line.. Time for the new guy to step up....

Didn't his mom just move to Ohio to be closer to him? Crazy i hope she can go back home with Aaron instead of being stuck in Ohio until she has the money to go home..

If his heart wasn't at ND, then he wasn't going to help us anyway. All American talent but an even bigger talent in bringing in the drama. His ND tattoos sure went a long way

There WAS a very short lived poll (mods are working OT) about which was worse, Lynch, Tee, or Greensberry.

They do all have heart problems in common. Shepard has a diagnosed medical heart problem, Lynch has an affair of the heart problem, and Greensberry just lacked heart (Les made me say that)

Aaron's decision, and he will have to live with the results.

As far as the coaches go, this makes them look pretty smart. I questioned at the time why we were recruiting so many defensive lineman in two consecutive classes. Loading up with Tuitt, Williams, Hounshell, Rabasa, Day, Jones, and hopefully Rochell makes our staff look pretty smart. We've got one more scholarship available. Let's load up even more.
