Looking more like Cave, KLM, and Slaughter will be the only 3.
If we land both Armsteads tomorrow, Cwynar might have to make way for Armond.
Goodman, Cwynar, and Golic already have degrees in hand, and they've all had ample opportunity to earn a 5Y. If the staff feels those scholarships will be better spent on incoming freshmen, there should be no hard feelings.
Gonna split hairs. Armond will be a first time situation for ND. He's not a freshman. He's a graduate transfer. A new experience at ND. He doesn't count against the 25 man class but does count against the 85 roster. BUT, I think ... that Kelly has some time to deliberate before the 5th Year Formal Announcement due to this and normal attrition.
Just how bad is Roberson's injury? Is it career ending?
Are there any other significant injuries/surgery?
Did someone pull a Julius Jones and have an academic issue?
Is someone's nose out of joint over recent recruiting development and enough to seek another venue?
The recent article on Badger had ND Man written all over it but does 6 months at home working out, 1000 miles or so, from South Bend have an effect? I hope not.
I'm not starting rumors just noting that in decades of following recruiting and ND football the unexpected happens in recruiting as it did this week, plus and minus, and it ofttimes happens with the existing team. Attrition happens at ND and not for the same reasons as at Alabama or OSU (who forecast Yeatman's departure, or Fauria's, or Bullard's and Banks family tragedies, or Boyd's quick transfer?
IF Armond does come on board, I think, Kelly has some time with one slot.
Best wishes to our team, those already on board and those about to do so.
