I can still remember the Ara years and the lean years until Lou arrived when he finally got us back to the mountain top. I guess I'm fortunate that I've been able to experience those championships, but it hasn't diminished my desire to experience one more before I punch the time clock one last time. 66, 73, 77, 88 & 93.

I was having all of your mothers and grandmothers and enjoying it. Especially yours Bobby.

Nana always said you were the one that got away. Said you were a real devil in the back seat of your DeSoto down at the Bel Aire Drive in.

1996-2004 Notre Dame Football is erased from my memory due mostly to indifference, alcohol and undiagnosed concussions.

And somehow....it all worked out for the best....

Since others are sharing and I find mine very fitting for this thread...

One of my first memories as an Irish fan was his dad's kickoff return against Nebraska

Julius Jones was a very good player on some mediocre teams and was always part of a two or three headed monster backfield. It was him and Ryan Grant I believe?

Even with that and missing a year for academics, he still put up serious numbers at Notre Dame.

Hails from a town with a cool name: Big Stone Gap, VA.
Tony Fisher a few years along with Terrance Howard. Grant was the feature back in '02 when he was suspended for academic probation.

My first game seen in person, Jersey Joe Theisman was tossing the rock to the fabulous Tom Gatewood at Dyche Stadium in 1970. My dad is ND undergrad, NW law and Evanston was closer, so he got tickets through NW. I was in the stands with my little yellow ND helmet on cheering the Irish. A good Irish ass kicking as I recall. You young bucks don't remember the days when the boys could impose their will on virtually everybody, except that arrogant bastard John McKay at SC. I hated that guy. Always screwed Ara's seasons except for 66 and 73.

No bumps since June cuz there's no new intel.

HOW can the now 73 ND media "sources" not have a single ND focused interview with this 5 Star legacy?

For how much his father loved ND, I don’t see him not being Irish

I dunno...does he? I don't know if I've ever seen him back on campus, definitely not at any of the alumni tailgates anyway. Signings or appearances on the sidelines for games? Not saying he doesn't love ND, just seems like he's been more off the radar than other ND diehards since his NFL career ended.

[EDIT] Alright, went through he and his wife's joint Instagram because I've apparently got nothing better to do this morning. Among the billion pictures there, the only Irish stuff was on St. Patty's day a number of years ago. She's wearing an ND shirt along with a lot of other green, and in a separate picture next to it one of his young boys had an Irish hat on. I didn't see any other Irish gear in any pictures, no pictures from campus, nothing. The only football pictures Julius put up are from his NFL days. I'm wondering if there's bad blood after he had to sit that year out for grades. My only other takeaway is his wife is a smokeshow , but may have too much lip filler in some pics.

While he's on my mind...

I wish they'd tweak their Pot of Gold Day on St Paddy's. Without the "official" offer, the industry doesn't cover it. Them sitting on offers until then puts a bottleneck on the flow of intel by the reactionary ND press core. Sucks having to read Miami, SC, MI, OSU pieces to get the side mentions that ND is involved. Total rubbish.

Offer guys like this earlier and do a recap or "official" offer on the 17th.

Is it too early to say that if we don't get this guy it'll be a massive disappointment

I realize he's a 27 recruit, but why did this offer take so long? He's a legacy 5 star.

II pod today mentioned that the staff tells kids ahead of time they are going to offer them on pot of gold day. I’d say he had been notified ahead of time.
Agree, I would have a hard time thinking maybe not all, but most of these kids knew it was coming. Just wanted them to hold off for the big SM blitz.

Wow I didn't realize he was literally the composite #1 WR. Like a gift from God considering how we struggle to recruit there. Hopefully we don't fuck it up.
