Because it's still a sign of accomplishment for these young people, and it shows appreciation to coaching staffs that have offered them.
Not to mention it benefits our team and our signal caller's ability to recruit the higher his ranking is. Committing early and not reporting offers leaves the know-it-alls on the recruiting sites to never care about updating your ranking.

I'm sorry but a South Carolina offer is not going to move the needle on the ranking of a QB who is already committed to Notre Dame (and holds offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, etc). And if he tweeted an offer from one of the small handful of teams that would move that needle (Georgia, say) we'd all be freaking out about a flip.
The kid can tweet what he wants. It doesn't really matter. But the idea that it's somehow beneficial to us doesn't make much sense.

I agree to let the kids post what they want, especially their offers. Look, we get star struck when we see a kids' profile and man crush over their offer list. Then you see a lot of "Just the offer list alone makes me want him." That could be the same as other recruits - "Man, this QB they got apparently is a stud, so is that lineman, so is that guy and that guy. Recruits are going to ND and they have offers from all these other powers. Maybe I'll check them out or give them a serious look." You just don't know. But in no way, shape, or form does it hurt ND. I can only imagine when I was 18 I would be gloating about all the D1 offers I was getting and letting everyone know.

This 100%. I think back to being 17-18 and how anyone who had a D1 offer was just a "god" at the school. Now in today's social media world, why not let them gloat and show off their accomplishments. These kids earned it.

FWIW south carolina lost their 4 star QB commit yesterday so that explains the timing.
We don't even need to use the "he's just a kid" qualifier for this since 90% of all grown a** adults spend their days bragging/sharing on social media
Difference is their "accomplishment" is taking a vacation to South Carolina while Grubbs is getting a full ride to South Carolina

It's disrespectful. Maybe you don't have to deal with what I do, but I don't go home and tell my wife every week what girls hit on me, even though I didn't reciprocate.
Just like you don't parade offers from other companies to your current employer unless you are looking for leverage.
Seriously, i'm actively involved in some people's personal recruiting at a high level (different sport but still D1), there's no reason for this if you are committed. It's not a big deal as it's common, but again, absolutely no reason to do it.

not after you’ve verbally given your acceptance to their offer. If I was on social media hyping other offers after just committing to an employer even if not signed, they would probably drop me or you as they should.
I would agree with you in the interview process without an offer or committing to one.
It’s not a big deal but there’s a reason a minute later he has to come out and say he’s 100% committed to nd.

If I gave a verbal commitment for a job but I couldn't sign my employment contract for 1.5 years i would still be listening to other offers, everyone would, it would idiotic not to. Situations and circumstances change and I won't ever fault someone for making sure they're taken care of
