What would you put the odds at then? I find his response to actually be pretty mature and more "adult" than the adults losing their minds over recruiting.
49/51

like our 26 qb posting about another offer now deuce congratulating a top player from leaving ND and going to a rival… not the leadership we need from the qb position and we need our qb to be a main recruiter for nd

With Harbaugh no longer there, I just do not understand this flip.

I believe Ike Taylor and new Michigan's DB coach, LaMar Morgan, were actually teammates at ULL. Taylor was a senior when Morgan was a freshman.

I'm not saying that itself was the deciding reason, but seems like Morgan likely knew of the family a bit before getting a position at Michigan.

It appears that Taylor was looking around - maybe for a better $$ offer, maybe for a better playing time situation, maybe a bit of both - and then, yeah, this relationship brought him to Michigan. For now. I'll bet lots of vbucks he never makes a tackle in maize and blue.

Odds can not be good knight sticks with ND

How so?

Only reason anyone has this sort of feeling is because he hasn't said "I'm completely solid to ND and not talking to any other school".

Yet, Deuce has spent about the entirety of one month on campus since committing. I'm not exaggerating either. He's been to campus many many times, came earlier for those visits, and has stayed later than originally planned.

Anyone can decommit at anytime, so nothing is guaranteed, but despite rumblings, I'm quite confident he sticks. If he decided to take a visit during the season to Ole Miss, then I'd question it a bit.

Wouldn't shock me if that was the reason.

Michigan got a safeties coach who he is familiar with and is former teammates with his dad, while ND lost the safeties coach who landed him in the first place.

Sucks, because it seemed like ND weathered the storm a bit after the visits, but ND will survive. Something tells me that Taylor isn't going to leave the south regardless.

Fine by this he wants guaranteed playing time chances are he doesn’t even up at Michigan
Probably so. Someone who wants guarantees before even getting on campus isn’t a team player.

It’s how he rolls.

We shall see how strong of a commitment this really is when scUM drops 4-5 games this season...

One thing I’ve learned is the the ND door is closed. But it would be beautiful to see him spurn the Stinkbears.

Dylan Edwards 2.0. Commit due to a preexisting family relation. Play a year, go to home state U.

I mean ultimately a lot of recruiting (absent NIL) is about relationships.

Taylor really jived with O’Leary by all accounts and as good as Mickens is, sometimes you just don’t vibe the same. I’m not saying Ike’s teammate promised Ivan early PT—but if that’s what he’s after, it’s feasible to think your old man’s buddy might be more inclined to give you a leg up, even in major college football.

I’m not sure it’s an indictment of the staff any more than it is just shitty circumstances for us. We’re gnashing teeth bc it’s Michigan…but cmon we all knew he wasn’t going to sign here for at least a month.

Unless the decommittment was a result of getting a similarly rated commitment
But, we haven't, see above. We didn't lose him because we added Blair. And as someone that loves Blair. He will not be playing S long term. 6'5 200 lb HS S's do not play S long term. They are very valuable pieces to a roster but not at S. Which is why there are so few in the NFL.

The commitment can't be a HUGE deal and then the de-commitment not.
But context is everything. When Taylor originally committed, he was absolutely necessary because we needed a lot of high quality secondary players. Fortunately, we added the 7th secondary player in Blair just days before Taylor defected. Sitting at 6 players with a bunch of high level corner, nickel and safety options should at the very least, less the sting.

Also, if we're trading legacy players in successive classes, I'll take the Carr/Taylor trade.

Best world is one where Taylor chooses ND but life isn't perfect.

I think Blair is a safety, but maybe I'm just an optimist.
