Driskell is saying it’s an injury and development issue. Staff haven’t seen the development they wanted due to all the injuries.

Man this doesn’t feel right this late in the cycle. Hope he ends up on his feet. Rooting for him.
Same. I hope he lands somewhere that’s good for him. He was never someone who’d see the field at Notre Dame and it was really weird they offered him.

Also like, it’s not a reflection on Daniel because I just don’t think he’s very good, but I wish ND would stop wasting its time in states like Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas. There are plenty of good players in states that are actual fits for the program.

Ohhh… so you’re the guy who told Davie to pass on Philip Rivers! Should we pass on Gunner too?

Honest question, why do we need to process guys with the expanded scholarship limits
Because he's not even close to being major college rb... and rightfully so being told now, they tried to see how he could bounce back and hasn't..... they were frank with him

You honestly think we are going to be able to fill our 120 schoarships with all college ready guys? Did the staff think Faison was college ready ?

I honestly think the staff didn’t want to waste their time trying to develop him. It was a bad assessment from the start. He was never going to be a contributor at nd. Somewhere along the way McCullough did think that was possible - I blame him for the whole fiasco

IIRC, any additional scholarship over 85 is going to come from the revenue sharing that would go to players. A few over, no big deal, but if we’re talking 20 scholarships X $70K/year? $1.4 million/year divided by 85 doesn’t seem like a massive number, but would be taking nearly $70K out of a normal 85 scholarship players roster over 4 years.

This was too much math for 2 hours of sleep but I hope the gist of my argument is there is why we really shouldn’t be going over 85 by more than a few

I’m glad for both parties.. He never belonged on the roster & he should pick up a D2 offer where he can compete for the starting role.

Now I want to see this staff be closers on this final stretch..

ND has $, ND nation has $.. there’s got to be some championship starving alum that are willing to do what it takes to get us the elite level talent we need.

If Auburn can dole it out, Ohio St can dole it out we should be able to pay whatever it takes to get some of these studs.. Give em a little extra for the troubles of having to go to class 😂

In all honesty, I think NIL absolutely implodes in a few seasons when tons of $1m + type players don’t perform well & boosters quit risking the dough.

From everything I've read and heard, ND is paying on the same level as those schools, if not more.

Money isn't the reason ND loses out on elite recruits. The reasons are location and/or ND is hard. With Deuce there was also one other issue - he was afraid of CJ Carr.

We do seem to usually have a couple of guys from Louisiana but the only player on the current roster from Alabama, Mississippi or Arkansas is Riley Leonard. These recruitments never seem to pan out.

Yeah it was me. I’ve been telling the program for decades that the Deep South is a waste of time for Notre Dame.
I think ND needs to turn over all stones in recruiting. We've gotten too many good kids from the south over the years to completely ignore it (Tuitt, Hamilton, Tillery) although certainly kids from Georgia and even Louisiana (given how Catholic that state is) will project a lot better than Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas. But even LA is not immune based on the recent recruitments of Logan Diggs and Amorion Walker.

Better go look up the definition of Deep South cuz if you get Freeman to stop recruiting GA, we’re comin for ya.
