On3's Sam Spiegelman kicked it off yesterday morning with a prediction

Wiltfong & Loy followed with CB’s in the afternoon.

Reports 4.0 GPA & 4.4/40

Was TJ Lindsey's teammate but Lindsey was transferring to IMG (that may or may not happen after the sale of IMG for 1 and done's anymore)

Required every time we recruit a kid from The Natural State:

When is the last time we signed a kid from Arkansas?

I remember when we signed Luke Jones, an Arkansas fan, from Arkansas, and multiple insiders at different sites mentioned they didn’t see him staying at ND.
And of course he didn’t & transferred back to Arkansas.

Before Jones, it was Bartley Webb. He was an OL from the infamous “Springdale 5” when Malzahn coached there. He stuck w/ his ND commitment but unfortunately never saw the field due to injury & had to retire. He graduated from ND and is currently back in Arkansas putting that degree to good use I’m sure.

Had Frank Broyles not ordered Houston Nutt to hire Malzahn as his OC, I still think Mitch Mustain would’ve committed to ND and could’ve ended up w/ a much better (less drama) career.

Wow qualified for the state tournament in Arkansas in the shot put triple jump 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay
Was that this past year? Weird b/c their football coach (who has since left) forbade his players from running track.

SIDE NOTE: any coach who says they love multi-sport athletes is usually lying b/c if/when another sport conflicts w/ that coach’s sport, he forces them to choose.

Didn’t Mustain commit to Arkansas because he was worried about Clausen?

Hard to NOT trust deland, but that’s not very good film compared to our 23 and 24 rbs. I know it’s just sophomore film. Hopefully we aren’t accepting a commitment from him too soon.

I’ve tried to look into the situation & there is conflicting info.
You have a few who think he is on commit watch.
You have a few who think he is taking fall visits first.
You have a few who say he is a long way from a commitment.

So three different opinions from three different set of “insiders.”

nothing against this kid but i thought if they took a second RB in this class then they would go hard after a kid from Georgia who's name escapes me right now but is highly recruited nationally and likes our irish from what i've heard.

Prister posted that he was going to start looking at his film for an In The Film Room piece, and then posted again like five minutes later that he wasn’t going to do one yet because he looked like trash (my words) in the film he had available.

I’m not going to post it, but IB did a 3 hour show on 2025 recruiting & around the hour mark they talk Anderson.

They said there are kids on ND’s board with higher ceilings, but Anderson is a kid who just knows how to play RB in the traditional sense and could show up Day 1 at ND prepared to play.
Said he has good vision & is efficient.

Said that they were told he tested better than expected over the summer, catching ND’s eye, & kids traditionally make their biggest jumps between Sophomore and Junior year, so it seems his testing numbers are already showing that.

800 yards rushing in high school doesn’t show he just knows how to play the spot. Thurman had like 3-400 yards rushing but shows much more Potential. We should be looking for a home run not a solid single. We could potentially have 2 rb commits that haven’t even played much high school rb.

I get it, but damn dude, they haven't even begun their junior year.

If it’s the 2025 class, then nobody will have played much HS football. Thurman moved to Tampa, and was a sophomore on a team with a Senior that was a 3 year starter, local kid, who was a D1 RB (at Temple now).
No way he was getting carries.
I bet he goes for 1500+ this year as a Junior.

Maybe we just have to take kids as sophomores now? It seems very early to take 2 RB’s. Maybe Deland wants to get guys committed before he takes a HC job? I’d be shocked if he ever coaches these kids.

could've heard wrong but they were talking about his numbers this summer on some podcast and i believe that they said his numbers were low because his team beats up a lot of teams and it makes it hard for kids on that team to put up impressive numbers.

Exactly… we don’t need to “guess” this early .. again hard to question deland. But this guy seems far far from a guaranteed top end rb based off his film as a soph.

I’m just basing this off his film. Runs hard but doesn’t seem overly fast or quick, not many moves. Should have some wow factor at least. The wow factor one could claim is he’s not scared of contact.

Keep in mind that he was evaluated at a Tennessee camp and was quickly offered by UT so if he impressed in person in a camp setting, that’s probably a decent indicator of his potential.
