This is a good reschedule even better than it would be if it was today. So no freaking out.
Some have brought up is he overrated? I'd say yes at this point. Not sure what his ceiling is, nor his floor. Hope he hits the camp/combines hard this off season. His film doesn't do much for me to determine is he a .8899 or a .9499
I have a former neighbor who has been tied into suburban coaching for the past 25 years. He's also tied into the 7v7 scene in Illinois which obviously doesn't help here. He doesn't think he's a 5*, he hasn't seen him live but saw him at a local camp/combine. He was more impressed with him than the three '23 DT's going to Michigan.
The more and more I hear the less excited I get about a possible commitment from this kid, especially if he is still going to talk to other programs after he commits.
I miss the days when a commitment meant a kid was committed....
The school just opened in 2008Christ the King has produced some great players (both men and women) through the years.
Yet the Twitter fan bots are mad at Washington for not camping out in front of his house.Scott has said -- to multiple team sites, not just ND -- that he's tired of the process. I believe he was quoted in an ISD article saying that the constant phone calls and text messages from coaching staffs "annoys" him, and that he wants to wrap up the process ASAP.
Does that mean he won't be a threat to take other OVs even if he commits? Certainly not. But it does seem like this is a kid who knows where he wants to go and is ready to wrap things up soon.
I think he’s talking about the Christ the King in NYC. I thought the same until I googled itThe school just opened in 2008
Considering how early it is in the process, I’d rather he visit Georgia to see if that’s what he wants or to confirm that it isn’t. And if he falls in love, ND has time to change his mind or rebound to a backup plan. They were kind of SOL by the time Keeley changed his mind.Would you rather him visit us or Georgia next week

I’m curious as to which service has been most consistent with their ratings over time. I know we’d be speaking primarily about ESPN, Rivals, and 247. Any body here that has any insight? Need someone like @Dale #WheresDale, to compile some data.I have ZERO clue how to rate DL, but so much of rating is subjective right? I mean look at On3, for example.
Didn’t mention visits, but did say something like he’d still be willing to listen to other schools. Is he going to shut it down or will he continue to do visits?????
This is Christ the King HS in Chicago, where Scott's basketball game was Friday night. My ex's dad did the electrical engineering on the building. Stunning, modern design. Worked with the Architect on numerous projects, all very impressive structures.
Really a bright spot in Austin.
You guys are making me think about Darnell Ewell
Because DL should be faster and quicker than OL. You need more athleticism on DL than OL.Speaking of... I know ND is in the market for a big NT right? Why not see if one of the OL who may be buried move over. Hypothetically, say a guy like Caleb Johnson or Rocco (just examples not suggesting these two) won't make the 2 deep or have an impact as a starter on the OL. Players move positions all the time, OL have gone DL and vice versa. Maybe you catch lightning in a a bottle, free up an OL spot and possibly fill a position of need with a guy already on Scholly
Maybe you get Chris Smith type run out of someone. That ain't bad
I'm sure there are examples but who have we successfully flipped around from OL to DL in recent years? Once they're been on campus.Speaking of... I know ND is in the market for a big NT right? Sounds like Carr is making the visit as well
Feels like a really good example of Freeman and staff choosing to start with a commitment even though it may take the full recruitment for this to be over.Fong joins in with a cb
Do we think the staff would really accept his commitment and go through the whole Bowen, Keeley, Moore drama? I mean I know kids change there mind but I feel like this cycle staff is going to be like all in or not and thats it... like some way of firmer commitment however that is... I could be wrong but they have to have changed up some after the last cycle....Feels like a really good example of Freeman and staff choosing to start with a commitment even though it may take the full recruitment for this to be over.
I think with a reasonable amount of certainty we can. Freeman said during his ESD presser and I'm paraphrasing here, that they think it's easier to keep kids committed than it is to win recruitments from behind. I would think that is exactly what we're seeing here. Get him into the class, a part of the group chats, involved in the ND media interviews, and bet they can hang onto him throughout the cycle.Do we think the staff would really accept his commitment and go through the whole Bowen, Keeley, Moore drama? Somewhat playing devil's advocate here but why? What really is the cost to taking a commitment even if the kid *might* keep looking around? It is a stake in the ground that he is coming to Notre Dame, which gives us a leg up, at least. And many guys commit and don't keep seriously looking around and wind up in the recruiting class. Bird in the hand and all that.Do we think the staff would really accept his commitment and go through the whole Bowen, Keeley, Moore drama? I'm ready for another "The other commits are shocked. They were playing Madden with him just last night!" post from an ND insider on ESD 2023, baybeeeeeeeeeee.
