On3 just named him #3 Overall player in the Class. Rivals put him just outside a 5* in their kickoff Rankings.

No matter how you feel about him, this is a MUST GET for MF/Coach Wash if only for the Class of '24 points.

And if you go to St. Ignatius... ND is the only college choice that makes sense.

I was excited about Mr. Scott already but now he just went straight to a Top 5 Class Want.

Took a consulting gig where I’m mostly on site and 1st shift is in at 430a. Id say waking up at 3am is for the birds but I’m done with two conference calls by the time my neighbor’s roster gets going.

ND sent out a lot of offers last week, how was he not one of them?
Elston offered already at UM.

This is a kid ND needs to lock up early unless they think he’s peaked?

He's currently a sophomore in high school and is 6-5/310?

I'm not a pediatrician or anything, but by the time this guy gets on a college campus there is a good chance he's of offensive lineman size no? Or he's Calais Campbell and this new staff are asleep at the wheel because he should have been offered last week but they don't know what they're doing and everything is ruined.

6'5 310 as a soon-to-be junior? I don't know how he could've peaked, just get in a college S&C program and hit the average for development and you'd have an absolute monster young man on your hands.

I hope we see this offer really soon. We need to be pulling kids this close to the school

What is St. Ignatius? Why isn't he at Mt. Carmel (Filer, Griffith) or St. Rita (Fleming)? Those guys are traditional powers, no?

Wasn't the public school where the Alabama TE went pulling kids away from the privates due to their success?

Had a client years ago who was a Joliet Catholic guy. He said the series with Mt. Carmel had to be suspended because the priests from the respective schools got into a minor dust up. LOL. Never really knew if that was true.

Ignatius may not be a recent football power but it’s a pretty blue blood Chicago private Catholic school.

Fwiw, I probably knew more kids from St. Ignatius than any other HS at ND. Only competition I can think of are like Delbarton, St. Joe’s, or Fenwick. I knew a ton of Canisius kids from Buffalo but that was more a matter of association I think lol

Its always been known as an academic institution, never as an athletic one. MC, Rita, always have been football powerhouses, down the last few years, Marist has been really good the last decade and a half - see ND players, Weishar, Coogan, and hopefully former player Carnell Tate. Rice is always solid as well. Providence was a powerhouse been down a few years. JCA Still is solid. Loyola is still a powerhouse. Fenwick, who knows anymore. Niles Notre Dame, St. Pats, St. Viator, all decent schools and athletics.

He must still be a pretty rough diamond. ND, Northwestern, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State have not offered. Mostly regional offers so far, furthest south being Tennessee. Furthest west is Iowa/Iowa State and furthest east is Cuse/Rutgers.

Knowing how early this process starts, it's interesting that the best player in IL for the 2024 class doesn't have some of the bigger offers yet. Wonder what ND and Ohio State see or don't see.

He didn’t start playing football until HS.
He is actually pretty slim for his weight and can add a legit 25-30 lbs. He is really athletic already, so I think the high rankings are projecting what he will be once he gains more weight and plays more football.
I’m guessing the big boys want to see him in person first before they offer. Michigan had to offer early to have a chance because they know he is a ND type of kid. Elston is offering a lot of 2024 DL early because he is striking out in 2023.

To be fair, the only notable football program east of Rutgers is Boston College. And no one gives a shit about them.

I don't know that when he started playing matters. These kids get offers like candy earlier and earlier. His current offer list isn't anything to spit on by any stretch, but I don't think he's quite hit pay dirt just yet. I look at him and think he's going to grow into an OL.

Still curious where Pitt, Maryland, the Virginias are. Seems right up their alley for an early offer.

ND has offered 3 DT in 2024 and all of them are guys Rivals has in the top five at the position. FL, GA and CA. Seem to be areas of focus for the new staff.

He’s a sophomore, so he has only played two years of football ever.
So people projecting him to be a 5 Star are thinking he is already a top 100 kid with little to no football experience. Not to mention the fact he HS just started football recently so he isn’t getting great coaching.

St. Ignatius and Loyola are among the best academic schools in the state if Illinois. St. Ignatius has really come on in football. For the first time I can remember, they had a real good run in the state playoffs. Beat some of the top Catholic schools in Chicago. If I remember correctly, they beat Mt. Carmel this year.
