What are rules on in home visits? I'd show up to Peytons door step the morning of signing day
here's Domer13's post from last week, super helpful.
Am I mistaken or didn't we do this for Manti's recruitment (or something similar, getting there at stupid o'clock)? What are rules on in home visits? I'd show up to Peytons door step the morning of signing day

Couldn't agree more, the only thing I don't get is why stay comitted to ND this whole time? It's not like his GF decided to go play soccer at Oklahoma last week she has been signed there for a few months. If you read between the lines, ND is basically trying to have Freeman pull a rabbit out of a hat as close to signing day as possible and get him to make a big picture decision over a small one. The problem is that when he leaves the house the pressure from girlfriend, HS coaches, teammates, etc. is still there.
Exactly.....and I don't care who you are that pressure on a teenager is hard to overcome, especially with nobody back home in our corner. If you read between the lines, ND is basically trying to have Freeman pull a rabbit out of a hat as close to signing day as possible and get him to make a big picture decision over a small one. That's two for circle jerkCircle jerk sounds kinda fun!
You’re still choosing to play for Venables over Freeman, regardless of the reason for it.He's not choosing between those Freeman and Venables....he's choosing between Freeman and his girlfriend.
Are you suggesting he pull a Harbaugh and spend the night? If you read between the lines, ND is basically trying to have Freeman pull a rabbit out of a hat as close to signing day as possible and get him to make a big picture decision over a small one. There’s a big difference between deceiving people/stringing them along and being legitimately torn/uncomfortable to go back on your word.I just really don’t understand the benefit of not being up front this far along. You build relationships with these guys and screw them at the worst possible time. This isn’t unique I know, I just dislike this aspect of the whole game.

This. Man up and tell them. Don't wait until the last minute it does no one any good.Couldn't agree more, the only thing I don't get is why stay comitted to ND this whole time? It's not like his GF decided to go play soccer at Oklahoma last week she has been signed there for a few months.
Again. it could help from class whiplash by waiting.This. Man up and tell them. Don't wait until the last minute it does no one any good.
This is a good point both times you made itAgain. it could help from class whiplash by waiting.
I don’t really get the it’ll keep the class together thing. The commits would 100% know before the public does. And whose main crux of decommitting is gonna be because Peyton Bowen did?
He is choosing between Freeman and his mom verses Venables and his girlfriend. He's not choosing between those Freeman and Venables....he's choosing between Freeman and his girlfriend.
I would get that angle around the time of the Moore fiasco and Keeley decommitment. At this point, just building up suspense?I don’t really get the it’ll keep the class together thing. You must not know the power of the vag 😂🤣He is choosing between Freeman and his mom verses Venables and his girlfriend.
I like our chances there
You can tell by how they're structuring the in home visits that they aren't naive. They are battling his HS coach, his friends, and his GF. They know that he likes ND a lot but is being pushed to Oklahoma as a decision that will make everyone happy. There’s a big difference between deceiving people/stringing them along and being legitimately torn/uncomfortable to go back on your word.
There are cases of the former in recruiting but I strongly suspect this is the latter, and that the staff knows exactly what they’re up against here.
Wait, so there was a call?? And this was it?! Was this shared before and I missed it?You can tell by how they're structuring the in home visits that they aren't naive. The Amorion Walker situation last year was a case of outright "deception" where he literally said at the last minute "I'm going to Michigan unless you can give me $X"... this is not that. This isn't Del getting caught with his pants down. They recruited contingency plans at S too.
It’s more about momentum or the perception of momentum. Stinks for the fans but can actually either help maintain momentum or keep it from reversing.I'm with you. Who in this class is only coming if Bowen sticks?
Rumor is that ND kept saying "hey are you solid?" and he'd say "yeah" and this went on for months... then at the 11th hour he was like "yeah j/k I'm going to sign with Michigan." And at some point in that (short) convo he said it would take $300k for him to change his mind and they told him they don't play that game. All hearsay, but him asking for a big check is reasonably well sourced on my hand from a second hand person that would know and got it from our coaches.Wait, so there was a call?? And this was it?! Was this shared before and I missed it?
