I'm pretty sure Carr committed to the university, but CJ has also talked about having a great relationship with Rees in the past. You can commit for the school but still be tight with a coach. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
Agree. I just think he’s solid regardless.

“And he (Rees) was really second to none,” Carr said. “I really could see myself playing for him anywhere in the country.”

Carr and Arnold coincidentally have had similar quotes in the past. Arnold basically said I think at Elite 11 he committed to Lebby and has grown to like OU more and more. I think Carr certainly loves ND and Freeman, but Rees was really the original reason for his peaked interest, if not commitment.
There’s someone for everyone, even Rosie O’Donnell.

Why do you assume you're right? Why do you assume you know more than a former player that's actually started for Notre Dame and been on the inside of the program? There's a lot of armchair QBs out there, some may are right, some may be wrong. What are their qualifications?
Bc he only cares about protecting his friend, not the actual truth.

75 posts in 28 hours since joining. Man you need to slow down. You are entering Du Lac territory.
That really is besides the point right now. He is making good points and doesn't need to be squashed by you declaring something you do not know to be true or not. That tactic to squash opposing views is tired.

Film don’t lie, brother, which is why Golic doesn’t actually explain why people are wrong and just calls them idiots.

But the next time you have a bad meal out, just remember that you don’t know what you’re talking about and the overcooked steak was actually perfect.

Twitter is pretty limited, sometimes you need more than 280 characters to let someone know how misguided they are. I've seen some of the things that people have thrown out there. There are a lot of fair criticisms towards the offense, towards Rees, and to Freeman. There's a lot of assumptions and stupidity out there too.

Your analogy works pretty well though. A common yokel may think a steak is overcooked if he's never had one before, and then he looks pretty silly when he's complaining to the veteran cook. These yokels have never played a down of college ball, and there's an awful lot of them that claim to be experts and know how it works for student athletes at Notre Dame.

Right now Rees is the scapegoat for all the problems the offense is facing, and you can oust him, but when he's gone the problems that weren't tied to him will remain and they still won't be fixed. However a lot of it does get fixed next year. We won't be fielding half an offense of underclassmen, we return almost all our starters. We'll have much more depth at WR. QB position will likely be stronger as we'll return more experience and likely some depth either via transfer and/or a commit. The team is trending upwards is the point, pulling the plug after half of a season is premature especially after a big regime change. Nobody is happy with the current result, but there's no reason to believe this offense won't be more successful next season.

Sounds like he respects Freeman more then Rees

CJ has already made it clear he doesn’t care what happens with Rees as it seems his relationship is strong(er) with Freeman.

No it’s a fact. Before the season CJ was asked if Rees leaving for the NFL would have any impact on his decision and he said, no. That he and freeman had already had that conversation and he’s locked in to ND and Freeman.

I’m aware of what Carr has said. Yes Freeman has proactively even before the season worked to build a relationship with Carr in the event Rees leaves. That much is definitely true.

That does not mean he has a better relationship with Freeman than Rees and Rees “never” gets mentioned. That is false.

That’s why I said “strong(er)” meaning one or the other.

If CJ likes Rees more than Freeman, he’s a unique kid.

I was told Freeman is the lead recruiter for every recruit. Even if that isn't reality 100% of the time, wouldn't it be logical to think that Freeman is the lead recruiter for the most important position on the field?

But yes I believe he is right about Golic and is getting a lot of undeserved flack for it.

That's thing about volume shooters. When Harden misses 10 shots in a row and fires up another three with a hand in his face, you're sure to draw a groan from the crowd regardless if it goes in.

If parting ways with Rees means no Carr, then so be it

I didn't see it myself put Someone post here that Carr is bought into Freeman regardless of if Rees sticks
I think so too. But, even if it came down to that, I'd still think it would be worth the sacrifice.
