Yeah pretty mind blowing I’ve never seen that reported. Just like the GA with Jason Moore. A detail that probably could have been emphasized a bit more I’d say lol. Nobody thought to mention that the new HC at Guyer and Lebby are best friends?
But it distracts from the narrative that everything bad ever is Tommy Rees’ fault.

If anyone wants to listen here is the link. ND talk starts at 38:40. Sounds like he respects Freeman more then Rees

Freeman needs to hire a new OC before signing day and try and get him to flip. CJ has already made it clear he doesn’t care what happens with Rees as it seems his relationship is strong(er) with Freeman.

I watched almost every commitment video from the 23 and 24 classes and I don't remember Rees being ever mentioned as a primary reason. Most of the other coaches have been brought up frequently.

Edit: I actually think CJ talked about him a little bit

Even non coaches are brought up more. Bowden is mentioned and never Rees.

Who would excite Arnold? Longo? Hartline? Freeman should make that behind the scenes hire and then spread the rumor to the Arnold’s. I doubt firing Rees would lead to us losing even 1 recruit. In fact, just the decision of letting him go might boost recruiting.

We’re just making stuff up now?
No it’s a fact. Before the season CJ was asked if Rees leaving for the NFL would have any impact on his decision and he said, no. That he and freeman had already had that conversation and he’s locked in to ND and Freeman.

Thanks though.

I’m aware of what Carr has said. Yes Freeman has proactively even before the season worked to build a relationship with Carr in the event Rees leaves. That much is definitely true.

That does not mean he has a better relationship with Freeman than Rees and Rees “never” gets mentioned. That is false.

That’s why I said “strong(er)” meaning one or the other.

If CJ likes Rees more than Freeman, he’s a unique kid.

Pretty telling none of Rees’ best friends are HCs at a national powerhouse HS. You’d think he’d keep better company. Can we find a OC with friends?

Other OC's have tight connections at the powerhouse level in high school.

Our OC has tight connections with a dude that eats mayonnaise on Oreos for clout.

Blanking on who. First name who was obviously after Rees I could think of was Fertitta. He graciously funneled 0 Gorman kids to us before joining BK in Baton Rouge.
Misread the quote. Didn’t see that it was high school head coaches.

I can’t keep up with all the trolls on here so that might be my answer (and not sure whether ur being serious or sarcastic), but where is all the Golic Jr. hate coming from?
He doesn’t appear, on Twitter, to be willing to be very objective about TRs playcalling this season. But he does go in on other teams and coaches. And then he “logs off” for the evening when people call him on the hypocrisy.

He made fun of ND fans for wanting Rees fired after the Marshall game. He doesn’t have ND’s best interests in mind, he’s only out to do what’s best for his friends and whatever raises his social media profile

I'm pretty sure Carr committed to the university, but CJ has also talked about having a great relationship with Rees in the past. You can commit for the school but still be tight with a coach. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

“And he (Rees) was really second to none,” Carr said. “I really could see myself playing for him anywhere in the country.”

Carr and Arnold coincidentally have had similar quotes in the past. Arnold basically said I think at Elite 11 he committed to Lebby and has grown to like OU more and more. I think Carr certainly loves ND and Freeman, but Rees was really the original reason for his peaked interest, if not commitment.

Golic Jr is a big supporter of the school and the team. What an asshole.
You can do support the team and not conduct yourself like Golic Jr.

Tell us why we’re wrong if you’re so convinced we are. Because he’s calling Notre Dame fans idiots and then logging off. That’s being an asshole.

Why do you assume you're right? Why do you assume you know more than a former player that's actually started for Notre Dame and been on the inside of the program? There's a lot of armchair QBs out there, some may are right, some may be wrong. What are their qualifications?
