I think he's winning it after Mendoza has a mediocre Big 10 championship. Sayin will fall back because he will be the preseason favorite for 2026.

I just don't see the flash in the Reed/Sayin/Mendoza group of QBs on undefeated teams to merit Heisman. They tried with that Mendoza toe tap TD but IMO that is more on the WR than the QB. WR circus catch usually means they are bailing out their QB, not the other way around.

If they aren't going to move the voting/ceremony to AFTER the playoffs, they kind of need to consider prior year bowl/playoff picture. Love had THE play of the entire season with the goal line miracle run. Add that to the slide show, IMO. If they want to keep playing the best(ish) player on the best team game, include playoffs for prime time impact factor.

The wave is gaining steam
Yes, he's by far getting the most love (see what I did there) of any of the other Heisman contenders. At least from national media people. Mendoza gets some, but it just sort of seems to be by default because he's the QB of an undefeated team. SEC homers are pumping Reed and Pavia. Sayin seems almost forgotten altogether.

I think it's more that they were obviously stat padding. Vandy's QB isn't usually a volume thrower and he's suddenly throwing 39 times up big against a team that's already rolled over? OK.

I think it was sort of brilliant to leave Love with only 8 carries. If he had 20+ carries it wouldve invalidated his whole statline. The obvious statpadding is offputting.
Yeah, some people have tried to accuse Love of stat padding but that doesn't pass the sniff test when he had only 8 carries and was out of the game a few minutes into the 3rd. Meanwhile, Pavia was still throwing late into the 4th.

Yeah, those QBs seem to be there just because they're QBs of top teams but none of them have any big splash moments. Mendoza sort of had the one you mentioned but that seems completely forgotten now. Meanwhile, I see NFL players doing the J Love celly and NFL media people sharing Love's highlights and stuff.

Here is something fun to think of: Love had 8 carries and 3 TD's. Recall he got tackled inside the 1 yd line (threw a TD to Pauling) he scores there he scores 4 TD's on 8 carries...just unreal.

The man can do it all. Heard he offered to work concessions during halftime.

He was also picking up a flags and handing it back to a ref at one point - there is a marketing schtick in there somewhere.

Mendoza's stock will plummet after facing O$U in the B1G championship game. Love for Heisman!
My hope is that game is a defensive stalemate and neither QB does anything remarkable. Mendoza has had a great season & may very well win but his “moment” was the TD vs PSU to pull off the win late but he was pretty pedestrian until then & PSU has fallen off a cliff. No offense to Sayin but thus far it looks like OSU’s system is plug & play. Again, hoping they both get contained in the B1G CCG

Yeah, Sayin is maybe the 3rd best player on his own offense and only somewhere in the top 5-10 on his own team. Maybe next year he takes a huge step and is The Guy on OSU, but he isn't this year.

I know "we want everyone to be healthy for the playoffs" but for the love of god just give him the ball 25 times so he can have 300 yards and 5 TDs. A Heisman is a big deal for a program.
More like 15 times with his pace.

Got Michigan grads in the NFL doing his Celly. What a world.

Watching this back, it makes a bit more sense. Loveland does a Paul Bunyan esque stance. Something he has done before as a Michigan player who is a really large human. Burden is the one doing the Love celebration, so Loveland reciprocates. Burden and Love are a year apart from St Louis together.

Yup, another one puts us ahead of OSU and OU again, tied with USC once more.

And it's been 10+ years for a RB. If the ND RB who is the most electric player in the game can't win it.....It kinda screams no RB will ever win it again, not really the message they want to send either.

He needs a hurdle or incredible catch this weekend that goes full blown viral. Sucks no one will be watching him in the middle of the night.

I'm wondering if he has a legit shot here if only because none of the quarterbacks are really inspiring.

I think a hurdle or something silly might go a long way.

Glass half full - long two day slog of big CFB games and he gets to cap it all off. If a bunch of voters find themselves staying up until 1 AM to watch Love romp for 200 and hurdle some fools they will know who deserves their vote. They will also be thankful if he sits after halftime thanks to a 3-4 score lead so they can go to bed.

I really don't care about the Big 12, I swear, but the narrative that they don't schedule other P4 ooc is false.

As of mid-Oct here are the conference records against other P4

SEC - 10-3 (13 games/6 against ACC)
B1G - 7-5 (12 games/3 against ACC)
Big 12 - 10-6 (16 games/8 against ACC)
ACC - 7-12 (19 games)

There are a few rivalry games not included, yet. These games are rarely scheduled short notice so I think criticizing schedules should not be in a vacuum.
