I threw a couple of bucks at J Love Heisman preseason. Good year to make a run at it - I'm not seeing any of these QBs running away with it unless Pavia leads Vandy to the playoffs. Hard to argue with that if it happens. MOAR 200 yard games for humpty Love!

Love may very well be the best player in college football and ND's greatest RB of all-time, but Heisman talk was always silly, if only because we always knew he was a part-time player. No RB has won the award in the past 10 years, and the only two RBs in the last 20 years were two guys featured at Alabama. You gotta get a shitload of carries to win.

It also does not help when his backup and his QB are also in the conversation.

800 yards rushing, 200 rec and 10 TDs in the next five games would put him at 1558 rushing, 397 receiving and 22 TDs.

Not happening but I think it would take those kind of numbers to win with weekly contributions to highlight reel that would invariably accompany that type of stat line.

You take that long run out of the equation and he had an underwhelming pedestrian day, but he did have that run thank goodness. BC DBs not that fast. Fields caught up with him from way back.

Feels like Love has really come on and is hitting his stride mid season. Hoping he continues to make a name for top awards, but more importantly we continue to find ways to use his playmaking ability and get him the ball.
