Maybe if our mid range passing game didn't suck so bad we could afford the more YOLO run attempts that stalled our offense in 2024.

Not to mention Love or no Love our OL got destroyed in the run game in the playoffs outside of a couple drives. Teams generally had the ability to play closer to the line of scrummage against us if not outright stack the box all season long.

In context of how teams game planned against us - the numbers they ALL put up are just short of miraculous.

I'm with @ulukinatme on this one.

I know I've made some of the same points on Price's own thread. As great as those house calls were, all of those negative runs killed drives as the offense last year couldn't dig itself out of being behind the sticks. Do the long td runs overcompensate for all the negative runs that killed drives that otherwise would've lead to points?

The final verdict for me was in the playoffs when Price was basically a ghost, absent a few good touches vs Georgia. The amount of carries he received when Love was hobbled speaks volumes.

But it's a new year, new line and new coach. Here's to hoping the both look like elite backs and the room goes nuts behind a Joe Moore award winning line and runs wild in the playoffs.

This is a good point, Price all but disappeared in the playoffs, despite Love being hobbled and still making plays on occasion. It could have been a good time for him to shine. Instead Williams was the more visible back when Love was off the field. He made good contributions in the Indiana game, and came up big in the Penn State game. Price also missed a block on a critical play against OSU.

It makes Notre Dame look like shit if players end up doing well in the League but weren't impactful at ND. Like how Miami's been for the last 2 decades
I think that's only true if the team and the player both under achieve. If a player excels in the NFL after struggling at ND but ND is taking care of business on the field then it doesn't really mean that much. The scenario with Miami is exactly that - the team under achieves so it highlights the fact that individuals aren't reaching their potential until after they leave.

Seems like he’s going to be one of the players on the cover for CFB26

Apropos of absolutely nothing but every time I see one of these threads bumped to the top I think “oh no what happened?!?” The spring 2013 Golson fear still exists.

a coworker from another department and fellow irish fan was telling me this morning in a hallway that he just recently heard that UGA offered Love 4.6 million to transfer but he didn't know how true it is

I was told by a very good source Oregon offered him $4M. Notre Dame is paying their guys very, very well.

I'm not sure this means ND is paying him more than Oregon or others. It does tell me whatever they offered, wasn't enough for Love to transfer somewhere else for one year before going pro.

If you're a running back looking at this O line in front of you, it would be nuts to leave.
