Who is naming him the favorite? He coached at Chapparal HS in AZ & also volunteered in the ASU football office during his time there.
FWIW Ari Wasserman had a whole long column in The Athletic last night about how Dillingham is THE guy to finally bring Arizona State up to its massive potential, as opposed to the bigger-name retreads they've hired in recent years. (Not sure but I think Wasserman went there or at least is from Arizona. The whole thing was you need a dynamic young coach who actually gets Arizona.)Who is naming him the favorite?
I read it. It was his own opinion about WHY ASU should hire Dillingham, but I don't know that having read it I came away with the impression that "Dillingham is the favorite."FWIW Ari Wasserman had a whole long column in The Athletic last night about how Dillingham is THE guy to finally bring Arizona State up to its massive potential, as opposed to the bigger-name retreads they've hired in recent years. He went to Arizona but your point is a good one. He knows that area & those schools well. ASU had a chance to tab Napier as their HC but opted for Edwards in hopes that Napier would be OC. Probably didn’t help that the person making the hire was Edwards former agent. Multiply this by a million and you see how local/state/federal jobs are handed out and end up as a shitshow more often than not.FWIW Ari Wasserman had a whole long column in The Athletic last night about how Dillingham is THE guy to finally bring Arizona State up to its massive potential, as opposed to the bigger-name retreads they've hired in recent years. Sorry, didn’t mean to imply he’s the favorite…just a potential candidate.Who is naming him the favorite?

I see why he is a candidate for sure. I think he'd have to make a veteran DC hire right out of the gate.Sorry, didn’t mean to imply he’s the favorite…just a potential candidate.
I read this as we should begin crootin’ Bo Edmundson.![]()
Bo Edmudson & MSU part ways; Spartans will re-pursue 5-Star QB
Earlier today, the Michigan State Spartans and former QB commit Bo Edmundson publicly parted ways. The Austin (TX) Lake Travis product announced his departure from247sports.com
"As for where Michigan State plans to go from here, sources tell me that several targets will emerge and the staff won't limit themselves. With that said, I'm hearing that MSU will begin by going to great lengths to attempt to flip 2023 five-star QB Dante Moore"
ThInD aNd LeMmInG aRe LiArS! tOmMy BoY iS sO sMaRt AnD wOuLd NeVeR dO tHaT!" Michigan State's staff personally felt that Notre Dame was considerably ahead of the pack
In other words, the MSU staff felt that taking the next best QB on their board (Edmundson) was better than missing
out on both. After all, the situation that the Spartans feared is exactly what happened to Notre Dame, as they turned
away star QB target Christopher Vizzina in favor of Moore. Well, Vizzina quickly chose Clemson upon ND making that
decision, but Moore later chose Oregon. That sequence of events has left ND without a 2023 QB commit. "
- This just blows my mind, it's nearly criminal that TR is still on the side of the road hat in hand. At FING NOTRE DAME

Was Lemming lying about Arnold? I just don't understand what he would gain from doing that. As I've posted before, he mentioned Vizzina in the same sentence as Arnold during an interview over the summer. No one has ever denied we stopped recruiting Vizzina. You got push back on roping Jackson Arnold into it, yet again. This is the problem with hating Rees with every post made is you can’t even keep straight when you’re in the right versus wrong.

I hate how much we have to constantly remind people that Moore committed to the staff so of course they notified other players they had been recruiting (Vizzina) and then they made a decision off of that. They weren't going to push for a second five star QB and be able to keep the one they thought they already had.
Moore screwed ND. Period.
Arnold committed to OU while ND was still recruiting him. Period.
Hopefully Freeman can learn from this and he, and whoever our next OC is, won't make the same mistake again going forward.Maybe, but it was never FACEBOOK OFFICIAL, so ND should have keept the bed warm for CV and others. If CV or JA wanted to commit (hypothetically), you call DM and say, Make it official or we are moving on... Today
ND screwed themselves here. how should they have played it?ND screwed themselves here. You can't blame a kid for his family.

I thought they would’ve learned their lesson last year with Walker. But, I guess not. If a kid isn’t comfortable enough to go public, or shut things down, then don’t stop recruiting the most important position in the sport.I hate how much we have to constantly remind people that Moore committed to the staff so of course they notified other players they had been recruiting (Vizzina) and then they made a decision off of that. I also think people need to remember the context. He was visiting and seemingly our coaching staff thought he was going to commit, but literally a week before, Nico Iamaleava broke college football recruiting with his $8 million contract with Tennessee.I don't know how you avoid kids making a decision to commit and then not keeping with the plan. The same could have happened if he committed publicly.
It was a situation of he was down to come to ND but then "guaranteed money" was a bit more enticing. Not the only kid we had this happen to in this class.
Moore's decisions are being made by his father though. He could still be naive but his father is the one pulling the strings and trying to benefit financiallyMoore gave his silent so they would back off Vizzina. He essentially reserved his spot knowing in private he wasnt done with the process in the slightest. He’s not an innocent bystander, nor is Keon Keeley.

ND putting all the time and effort into recruiting a kid from inner city Detroit, a high school with probably zero admissions to ND in the last 20 years, a shady family around him, in the heart of enemy territory (SCUM)...c'mon now ND knew what they getting intoOh I can though.
Moore is to blame for going back on his word and misleading a group of coaches that had been making him a priority for months, and for taking another kid's spot.
Moore's family is to blame for steering him that way.
The ND staff is to blame for acting like this is their first rodeo, closing down other promising recruitments, and generally putting way too much faith in Moore on the front end and sticking to it after the writing was on the wall.
Rees is to blame for us having one of the worst QB rooms in big boy college football.
