I was not expecting a commitment from him. He wants a ceremony and deserves one. If he announces a decision date in the next couple weeks, I'll feel good about it. If it leaks into the summer, Notre Dame could have some trouble.
False. Never once expected a commit on the visit. Hell we were point blank told not to. But official visiting other schools isn't ideal.Everyone that is saying it’s negative is assuming he was gonna commit on this visit it feels like
It was an unofficial visit. One of the national guys on Twitter said that the visit was about as impactful as ND could have hoped for in terms of an unofficial visit. Was this his OV to Notre Dame? I can't tell with these things anymore.
Personally not that worried about him taking visits and making certain. The kid sounds like he knows what he wants (and it sounds like he wants Notre Dame). As long as we have at least one more crack at him after he goes and looks at Ohio State or wherever. And as long as he makes his decision - and shuts things down - relatively soon.
In QB recruiting, this is about the time the dominoes start to fall.Guys. It's March.
From my vantage point, I don’t think the OSU visit on its own is something to be worried about. But when Loy says they may take OV’s and there are reasons why, like checking boxes for him and his family. It starts to sound like they are looking for something.Everyone is freaking out on Twitter because he is taking a visit to OSU.
He is visiting there like the other 20 schools he has visited.
OSU hasn’t even been a player I’m this race idk why everyone thinks he is all of a sudden gonna pick OSU and sit behind Devin brown the number 1 player according to On3(which is a dumb ranking)
Ding Ding. My thoughts exactly. From my vantage point, I don’t think the OSU visit on its own is something to be worried about. But when Loy says they may take OV’s and there are reasons why, like checking boxes for him and his family. It starts to sound like they are looking for something.
Yeah. If he has a visit to Ohio State already scheduled this weekend and goes to see the place, no worries, really. But if he then schedules a full slate of OVs that stretch into June or whatnot, agree it's time to start talking with Plans B. If for no other reason than to encourage Moore to make a decision promptly so we don't get left without a QB when the music stops. From my vantage point, I don’t think the OSU visit on its own is something to be worried about. To be fair they have really not given this vibe at all, to date. Some recruits do. Moore seems more focused on the long game - where Notre Dame has quite a bit to offer.Ding Ding. My thoughts exactly.
It could be but the rules in CA make Nico the exception. Moore literally can’t do what Nico did, to my knowledge. ND has also used these unofficials with others (Tate) to discuss NIL so it’s kind of a on the docket subject regardless, especially since Moore hasn’t been to ND for awhile.Reading between the lines, the first thing Loy mentions they discussed was NIL. Nico reset the market. ND is gonna have to pony up some money to get this done.
ND doesn't have a "collective" so this angle is a non-starter. They also believe (and are probably 100% correct) that signing any kind of contract with a booster-driven collective is likely against the rules... even though that's what some other schools are doing.Reading between the lines, the first thing Loy mentions they discussed was NIL. EJ just talked to him and he said he isn’t ready to make a decision and is setting up a visit to Texas A&M.
He might also visit Michigan again for spring game.
He told EJ he just might do that. (Cancel his OSU visit). The Michigan spring game is Saturday. He’d be cancelling his OSU visit to do so.
You love ND more than your kids?I am getting the feeling that Moore wants ND and it is the correct choice, but ND can't/won't compete on an NIL level. He is going somewhere he can get paid, and I would too. Until the rules change (and I really hope they do) ND is going to fall very short of schools like UT/OSU/Meatchk ect, where the rules don't, won't and haven't ever applied. Sorry guys, I love ND more then my kids, but if School A said come here and get $3.4, and ND said "well, you might be able to make some money", my kid is going to take the payday.
Yeah I read it just adding color that it’s a one or the other not a additional trip and EJ telling his subscribers he may be cancelling his OSU visit would get them offHe told EJ he just might do that. (Cancel his OSU visit).
Very much the concern and it’s what happened last year to Tommy. He got too late in the cycle without relationships with enough options and couldn’t get momentum in recruitments while those guys were very close to decisions. In QB recruiting, this is about the time the dominoes start to fall.

In Sampson I trust.Sampson just wrote this in his mailbag on the Athletic:
Notre Dame is on the verge of landing its first five-star quarterback in more than a decade. If (and there’s not much “if” here) the Irish land Moore, his player rating at 247Sports would be the fourth-highest among Notre Dame

Sure, but nothing has changed other than the irrational expectations of fans who HOPED he would commit on this trip without any evidence that was even in the cards. In QB recruiting, this is about the time the dominoes start to fall.
Tom says he feels more confident ND lands him now than before the visit.
