Our QB room is in OK shape as long as both Pyne and Buchner remain healthy and members of the Notre Dame football program. If not, it gets scary thin real fast. And frankly I have a hard time seeing both of them sticking around through the 2023 season. So whoever we land this cycle, if would be good if they're able to contribute as a true freshman.I agree and it reminds me a lot of the Will Shipley recruitment, thank GOD we landed Diggs and Estime to bolster the RB room in a hurry.
Counterargument, the QB room is in really nice shape right now with Pyne and Buchner each having three years of eligibility and Steve Angeli being a true freshman with 4-5 years. If there is a time to shoot for the moon at the QB position, this is it, and this particular unanimous 5 star is returning the interest.
In summary, if we land Moore, it could be a revolutionary spring-board for Freeman and this staff. If we don't, we can still identify a high floor QB for depth and look to 2024/2025 for the next 5 star. It's a really good position to be in.
Moore might be that kid. I dunno. Either way I agree landing him would be revolutionary. Not landing him is something we can survive but it'd be good to know that sooner than later. The really bad scenario is he strings this out, or flips late, and we're left scraping for yet another three-star with traits.
