I agree and it reminds me a lot of the Will Shipley recruitment, thank GOD we landed Diggs and Estime to bolster the RB room in a hurry.

Counterargument, the QB room is in really nice shape right now with Pyne and Buchner each having three years of eligibility and Steve Angeli being a true freshman with 4-5 years. If there is a time to shoot for the moon at the QB position, this is it, and this particular unanimous 5 star is returning the interest.

In summary, if we land Moore, it could be a revolutionary spring-board for Freeman and this staff. If we don't, we can still identify a high floor QB for depth and look to 2024/2025 for the next 5 star. It's a really good position to be in.
Our QB room is in OK shape as long as both Pyne and Buchner remain healthy and members of the Notre Dame football program. If not, it gets scary thin real fast. And frankly I have a hard time seeing both of them sticking around through the 2023 season. So whoever we land this cycle, if would be good if they're able to contribute as a true freshman.

Moore might be that kid. I dunno. Either way I agree landing him would be revolutionary. Not landing him is something we can survive but it'd be good to know that sooner than later. The really bad scenario is he strings this out, or flips late, and we're left scraping for yet another three-star with traits.

The staff clearly knows something that the general public doesn't because you don't turn away a top 10 QB (Christopher Vizzina) if he has legitimate interest in you, unless there's great news pending elsewhere. I understand why people are nervous because a lot rides on this recruitment, especially if you go all-in on one dude and it doesn't pan out.

But as both of us said, it's not a disaster scenario. Your dooms-day hypothetical includes 1) not landing Moore, 2) Buchner or Pyne transferring, 3) the one who stays also getting hurt & (I'm adding this) 4) Angeli not being a serviceable replacement to bridge the gap between whoever we may land in 2023 or 2024.

I definitely hear what you're saying and I understand there is some concern to be had, but the odds on that parlay I've laid out above are pretty long, lol.

Conversely, you could instruct Buchner and Pyne to miss every throw and tell Moore to plz help
I had this thought haha, but you risk looking like a terrible position coach if you have a 5* and 4* both looking like garbage under your tutelage

Dante posted a picture of an ND waffle. ND waffles =ND Lock
Can anyone confirm he eat the waffle or if he left it on the plate?

There is probably someone digging in the trash to get the scoop on this.

Hmmm...

I mean, it's probably not wise to judge a source based solely on their amount of followers... but 79?

Hmm....

I think with Moore and future visits (OSU and OVs) versus reported optimism you can take one of two directions:

- they think they land him this week or soon after and convince him to cancel current plans

- it’s a smokescreen already

I guess he could take the OSU visit and still commit soon after as well but would certainly prefer not haha

I just can’t bring myself to get on board that this thing is a done deal.

I have not followed a recruit or recruiting this much since the Bang Bang Notre Dame gang that included Tee, Deontay, and Darby. With that said I still only passively read this board and get updates on team recruiting rankings on 247. My usual process has been to read through their threads after they are signed. Even if he verbals its not going to be done.

Fucking Baylor.

They were so fun to watch at the time, I was a huge fan. The weekend they upset KSU while ND beat the brakes off Wake Forest was like a party.

Little did we know… Art Briles was the king of scumbags, and KSU losing was a nail in the coffin for a magical season.

(Oregon lost that weekend, too, but idk if ND beats them had they remained unbeaten. They had so much speed, and Chip’s offense still hadn’t been solved really. But KSU… Te’o would have made Collin Klein look like a walk on kicker trying to run the ball from the QB position.)

Na, we would have handled Oregon or KSU just fine. Oregon almost always folds when they face a smash mouth physical team. They're built to finesse teams with lesser talent, but not muscle. Yeah, some of us in 2012 knew the writing was on the wall when both KSU and Oregon lost the same night, because Alabama was there just chomping at the bit to get back into the title picture. I'm sure them being #2 was a nice motivational factor for Saban going into that game too, disrespect and all that. There were so many people cheering that night saying "We want 'Bama!" Oof.

I believe Moore is 16, not 18.
He’s really young for his class & still has another year of HS left.
So you're saying ND fans are at the mercy of a 16 year old?

Yeah, maybe we take Vizzina if he wants in. Fans putting all their money and gambling on a 16 year old that may not even pan out...I dunno.

If you don't comment that you're definitely not interested in the largest QB recruitment in years, then you are a plebian. How dare you.

Singer's radio hit he mentioned that he doesn't expect DM to commit, but it wasn't totally ruled out that ND could seal this up today/tomorrow.

Tomorrow might be warm, but it also could be cold.

Innnnnteresting. So is the implication that Moore may be staying at ND an extra day? If that's the case......have to think ND locks it up, right?

Every player? Hardly, and certainly not this invested. Na, not like this. Some fans have put all their eggs in this basket like it's "Do or die." Again, I'd be ecstatic if he's Irish, but I know there's other options out there and life will go on. It's been awhile since I've seen this many fans so invested in one guy.
