He’s the type of prospect you stay away from. Short of 4 straight Natty’s and a couple of Heisman’s, it won’t be enough.

Let’s say he’s struggling in his first couple of games, gets hurt enough to have to miss a series or two, and the backup lights it up..then what?

Not hate, but many of us have pointed out from early in the process that Arch looks like a solid 4-star QB based on measurables, arm talent and mobility, but does NOT look like the program-changing, sure-fire #1 overall QB that he's made out to be.

His film doesn't match the hype. A guy with his rankings and talent should be elevating his squad, but instead it looks like his ceiling is being affected by the talent level around him. And there's nothing wrong with that! He may end up being the GOAT because of his genes and football smarts.

But his currently-inflated ranking is due to his name, rather than his film.

Pedigree has an incredible amount of value. How Arch compares at this age to his uncles (even his grandfather) is actually very important. There's fairly recent recruiting "books" on his uncles which help understand how he might/likely progress. If Arch is ahead of them, then it's not all hype.

Also, the kid has seen and experienced football "stuff" which others simply haven't due to his proximity. Film sessions with his uncles are a little more valuable to him.

I'm not saying he's not overhyped....but his genetics and family history sure help move him forward. Skill level aside....as a college head coach, do you want to deal with Arch in the locker room as a freshman/sophomore.....or Dante Moore? Who do you think will have a family that will understand the process and help him understand the steps needed to grow?

The best explanation I've heard from the beat writers is that guys don't fall, it's more that some jump and it pushes the rest of the list down. It's not as if they all of a sudden think less of Jaiden as a prospect.

Wouldn't this be a negative for his recruiting ranking, because he probably has less room for easy development in college given he's already getting the best of the best coaching and advice?
