I am convinced some of these new handles are the same individual.
Who has the time and patience to do that? If that's the case....I am going to stop here because the things I would say about a person who spends his free time creating an internet message board alias is pretty bleak...

I came to this site a very weeks ago as another source of info but it seems like every thread on these players is just everyone attacking each other. And now that I said that I am fully expecting everyone to call me a newbe and to GTFO instead of talking about Keon Keeley
I would say stick around through the season before making any judgments. Off-season is pretty slow and all it is about is recruiting/drama/etc which is all hearsay pretty much.

During the season I really think that the discussion is 10x better. People still attack each other, but at least there are some good points, counter-points, and analysis done.

there have been multiple long time posters who have been banned multiple times under numerous handles. So it def. occurs.

Also, apparently this is a pretty common thing in the age of social media where people will respond to their own post with an opposing view to see if others back their original view or not. See Kevin Durant with burners.

Agree...except the game day thread is pretty toxic. I avoid that at all costs.

People have way too much time on their hands and way too little self esteem.

This is a very good forum. Don’t go to rivals. It’s whacko city. I don’t use pay sites but I heard IB is decent. IE is best free forum by a mile.

If everyone agrees it’s like a Driskell show anyway. That’s no fun.

Game day thread is toxic but the post game thread has some of the best discourse you will see on this forum if you wait a few hours.
Yep. That is one of my favorite threads each week. The breakdown you get from IE on that thread is quite impressive.

Most posters here seem to have a pretty realistic grasp on where we stand vis-a-vis the Big 3. We're closer now than we've been in the last 30 years, but it would still take a good deal of luck to win another title, and if this NIL chaos doesn't get reined in, we may never see another one. You are one of the few who seems unable to accept that, though.

Has nothing to do with "dissent." We welcome alternative points of view as long as they're substantive and respectfully expressed. That's not what you're doing.

This is an NDFB message board. The one thing that brings us all together is our shared love of the program. Reading criticism of something you love is unpleasant, so negative posts are held to a higher standard here than elsewhere. That's a standard that you and @PutuporShutup are not remotely close to meeting. Be substantive and respectful or get banned, simple as.

There are mods/ owners here that share your negativity. The difference is that their posts have substance, and don't invite the sort of low-value emotive responses that yours do.

Let's be clear about this. You're not some brave clear-eyed rationalist bringing the unvarnished truth to a bunch of Pollyannas here. You have not posted a single original thought on IE; it's all shit we've seen a thousand times before. You're just another middle- aged dude who can't deal constructively with his anxiety about the team, so you force us to read your emotionally driven contentless garbage. We aren't interested in serving as your personal support group.

The lack of self- awareness here is gobsmacking.

You and a couple other newbies have dragged this board down to the level of the paysite public boards recently, and I won't stand for it. Do better, or GTFO.

I don’t have a problem with the criticism, but everything is negative to you. Freeman’s coaching, recruiting, and posturing all seem to be wrong in your eyes. What is good about the program to you?
Sounds like everyone likes the CJ Carr commit? Lol

I just don't see the point of echochambering positive news or things I'm already cool with or agree with

I just post about things I disagree about or am dissatisfied with

It usually gives people a case of the mads like it is now

They will act self righteous in their capacity for hearing a dissenting viewpoint but not really

The issue will always be posed as "not substantive" or "redundant" or "emoting"

But posting "Yes!! We got CJ Carr" is equal parts not substantive, redundant, and emoting

I've got the warning from the resident Tuff Guy moderator so will tone it down

I think the bolded is very self-aware of you to say, but also exactly why your approach isn’t very well respected. It’s not that we all want to hear nothing but sunshine and rainbows, but most don’t want to hear people formulate an argument to which you know will be in the minority just for the sake of doing so and then hammer it down everyone’s throats. To take it a step further, it comes off as an ND hater just trying to get ND fans riled up.
To be fair, you’re not the only handle we’ve been seeing it from lately and it’s just not what most of us are coming on IE to read.

The long and short of it is in Whiskey's post above: negative stuff is held to a different standard here. Your posts aren't markedly less substantial than a million of the more positive things that are posted without administrative comment (certainly without the five angry reaction gifs you reliably pull) everyday, so I'm guessing the standard referred to mainly deals with tone. Try that and see what happens.

You got to get used to the idea that the elite talent-committed or not- is going to be recruited until the end. Last I checked Keeley is still committed to the Irish. And while he was on his visit to T Town, Bama had a committed 5star DB visiting A&M. It’s gonna happen as you get to the top 4-5 in recruiting. Got to accept it and hope your school can close the deal in the end. So far I have read that the sky is falling in South Bend and MFF is failing. Neither of which is true. You guys are ND… and that still means something in CFB. Reminding yourself of that often will help get you through the rough patches… especially in recruiting.

No one minds seeing low-value but harmless positivity like "Go Irish!" It's easy enough to just scroll past. But the low-value negativity elicits similarly low-value responses, which derails the entire thread. Thus, the higher standard for negative posts.

Check out @Luckylucci's post history for an example of someone who's generally negative but does so in a substantive and respectful way. We're trying to grow this board, so I'm not nearly as quick on the bans as I used to be. Just tone things down a bit and stick around a while.

I'll try to derail the thread with some negativity of my own; this paternalistic, well-wishing Bama shit makes me want to throw up. Go poison some trees or something.

Just kidding, sort of.
