Cute. You’re on a site that is intended for ND fans and just about every post you make is, at best, playing devil’s advocate. However, I don’t think that’s why you keep lingering around here. Perhaps you are more objective than some on here, but I think you just get off on riling up true ND fans. You’re much more likely to be an ND hater that tries to disguise it a little. Whatever it is, you’re incredibly tiring imo, but I’m the type that tries to distance myself from negative people.
Yep, just as I thought. Still don't get it.Because there are players who have limitations on this team. Believe it or not we're not 2010-2020 Alabama, crushing every team, winning titles and sending everyone off in the 1st round.
And it's almost like people can't accept that and instead just assume everyone is the next major player, and get mad when someone who actually sees the strengths/weaknesses accurately says hold on.
He's been complimentary of Rico and also pointed out who he is/isn't. He's said he's trustworthy, fights for catch, and plays hard and will be a good complimentary WR, but he's on the slower side.
This is the same push back faced when I said Tobias ain't it in August. Same with Kiser. Now everyone sees it. Rinse and repeat.
So here's how it applies - if Rico has no limitations worth observing, why wasn't he a 5 star?
Chill out.

Golly, there's some soft people here. This is football

What's garbage? That rico actually is fast and i'm completely wrong? It's not about being soft. It's that your takes are absolute garbage, and you come across as an asshole.
Just the last 2 huh? 😂😂😂Last two posts by Lberry and Putup make it clear, this is not the type of forum that fits their interests and they should probably look for another home.
Many words, little said. Many words, little said.
Everyone's been complimentary of Rico. Everyone's happy he's here. That said, WRs compliment each other and IDK if you (or others) understand the difference between field/boundary, but no one on ND's campus thinks Rico is a field for physical reasons. And that is perfectly fine because guys like Cam Williams and Braylon compliment him - but he's not a burner and likely never will be. That in no way means he sucks, etc
There should be a sub-board for ND fans who to actually discuss games/coaches/team and how best to utilize without people freaking out.
I didn't know about the ignore feature. I was wondering how I didn't get more thumbs up.God damn I love the ignore feature....lol. Don't everyone know by now we're all wrong and dumbfuckorfuckup is always right....geez
I will say a lot of it is learning/mastering technique And getting more explosive. I remember Davante Adams first year in the NFL he couldn’t get separation to save his life not to mention he had the drops. We did just beat the devils.
Actually, i'm a little shocked people don't want to assess players more here. It's almost like the players need to continue playing so bad they don't even get on the field anymore before some posters can honestly assess them. A great example is, some posters were pointing out Clarence Lewis physical limitations after his frosh year, got hammered for that for awhile, now he only see's the field limited due to our transfer nickel struggling.
All i was doing was calling out the fact i was shocked at Rico not being a bit more athletic, and i felt that played into his lack of separation saturday night.
I enjoy objectively assessing our players/coaches to see what our strengths/weaknesses are and where we need to improve. Something simple like cutting at full speed is a key trait for WRs, getting in and out of breaks, etc and our team lacks that right now from multiple WRs. I think with our TE talent, RB talent, and at times Oline, we can off set that with smart game plans, that's just did not happen vs Duke.
Maybe Rico wasn't getting separation because he had to play the entire game? Maybe he was a little tired out from running every single play?
The experience will certainly benefit him going forward! He was also being covered by a 24 year old who has played in 54 games with 20 starts in Al Blades Jr.
And it was his first game as a starter against the best defense in the ACCMaybe Rico wasn't getting separation because he had to play the entire game? Maybe he was a little tired out from running every single play?
So not good enough for the NFL?He was also being covered by a 24 year old who has played in 54 games with 20 starts in Al Blades Jr.
His advanced degree is from Trump University. He flunked out of Praeger.I expect more succinct words from an "advanced degree" holder. The fact that you have an advanced degree is the biggest indictment of the education system in our country.
I’m pretty sure Ding LBerry is a burner account for Putup or vice versa. They’re very supportive of one another.WTF does this have to do with me criticizing the negativity of a poster on every single thread?
Another swing, another miss. Although I do appreciate his perspectives. He actually has something to say.I’m pretty sure Ding LBerry is a burner account for Putup or vice versa. They’re very supportive of one another.
Creative unique thought you have there, amazing a few ND fans don't think every ND player, coach, recruit is perfect.I’m pretty sure Ding LBerry is a burner account for Putup or vice versa. They’re very supportive of one another.
No one's coming for Rico Flores. He's simply not a Field WR. And the compliments to him are well noted. This dude caught a TD against Ohio State and got the two point conversion that helped seal up the Duke win and he's a true freshman. He had to get a ton of reps Saturday night because the two deep thinned out because of injuries.
The Hot Pocket eaters in Mom's basement are coming for Rico Flores of all people? I just don't get it. Sorry, but it's just dickhead internet behavior begging for attention and nothing else. Nothing contributed.
No one is frichan coming for Rico. All i stated was he's less athletic than I expected. Even i said he will probably be a solid reliable WR.This dude caught a TD against Ohio State and got the two point conversion that helped seal up the Duke win and he's a true freshman. Who gives a shit what you expected? You just shit on the kids plays by saying he had nothing to do with them. You want to be right so badly that you have to find negatives everywhere. Do you have any hobbies? A job perhaps? Or do you just enjoy being an argumentative asshole on a message board? No one is frichan coming for Rico. All i stated was he's less athletic than I expected. People need to stop making up stuff that's not true.
With that said, our WR play as a whole was terrible saturday and hasn't been very good this year.
His TD vs OSU was a busted coverage, he didn't beat anyone, his big catch vs duke the DB fell down. He still made the play, that's awesome. But we don't have a WR right now that can win vs 1-1. Rico is a frosh, he will improve, he was put in an unfair situation saturday, but it is what it is. Parker also didn't help the WR group out at all. We just need WR to be better, it's our biggest weakness and what could hold us back from a great season. If we need to rely on Rico this year to play a ton then like freeman states, he needs to improve with urgency, he's far from alone.
fair, a bit of it is around concerns with stuckey and what he's coaching or not coaching because I think we all thought our WR group would be significantly improved, and it's not. I gave rico credit about his mental side of the game, physically ready, good hands, it's just he's less athletic than I expected, when we need some athleticism and ability to beat 1-1. I'm significantly more disappointed in Tobias than Rico. I don't know why he's not running better routes with his speed that he does have. Why is he not running more deep posts, more crossers (he was open on one but it was a bad hartman pass), why are our WRs jogging a lot (this happened vs OSU too). There's a lot goin on here, and little of it is good with the position group.@PutuporShutup Saying a WR has limitations is fine, but everyone is wanting you to acknowledge he can grow. He is a freshman afterall. I think everyone here knows he wasn't ready to be the #1 this past Saturday but he stepped up admirably against one of the best defenses we will face.
You just have a tendency to drag on arguments where you double down on your position including arguing against people who didn't even @ you. I'm home the last two days and you are on this site posting more than I can.
You're now making a more justifiable stance but if you acknowledge he needs to step up even more before the end of the year, acknowledge when he has already this year. Instead you make excuses for why he made plays instead of giving him any kind of credit. It comes off disingenuous to posters and like you're not really willing to give him credit or a chance at all.
I think you're letting your disappointment in Tobias skew your overall opinions of the WRs this year. I think Greathouse, Flores, and Thomas have been about as good as advertised.fair, a bit of it is around concerns with stuckey and what he's coaching or not coaching because I think we all thought our WR group would be significantly improved, and it's not.
