Can you explain physically why Rico wasn't a 5 star recruit with every offer?
WTF does this have to do with me criticizing the negativity of a poster on every single thread?

The crazy part is this started because IMO, having seen him twice, rico isn't overly athletic, less so than I expected.

With that said, he clearly played better than Tobias. I was insanely wrong on expectations and ability on what I thought would happen on Tobias this year. Hope i'm wrong on Rico, and he becomes a stud!

Because there are players who have limitations on this team. Believe it or not we're not 2010-2020 Alabama, crushing every team, winning titles and sending everyone off in the 1st round.

And it's almost like people can't accept that and instead just assume everyone is the next major player, and get mad when someone who actually sees the strengths/weaknesses accurately says hold on.

He's been complimentary of Rico and also pointed out who he is/isn't. He's said he's trustworthy, fights for catch, and plays hard and will be a good complimentary WR, but he's on the slower side.

This is the same push back faced when I said Tobias ain't it in August. Same with Kiser. Now everyone sees it. Rinse and repeat.

So here's how it applies - if Rico has no limitations worth observing, why wasn't he a 5 star?

Chill out.

I was on the hype train before the season as well

If viewing the videos objectively with what we know now, it shows a wr not able to get separation from a db that gives up separation to other teams wrs

With ability to make contested catch. Just don’t want to make throws in game like that
Half our wrs were out with injuries and two more are being red shirted. The only wide receivers the Duke secondary had to focus on was a true freshman, a converted rb and Tobias. Flores is an elite route runner and will create separation but he was put in huge role Saturday for a true freshman. He would have had a very different game if we had more threats on the field at WR.

More of a trend than a one off…

Golly, there's some soft people here. This is football
Ohhhhh, I think there's been a miscommunication.

We're all comfortable with meany people who don't say nice things about our guys. What's exhausting is the confidence you and Lberry project about every goddamn opinion on every thread, relentlessly. You don't cheer for ND, as much as work overtime to point out why their current players aren't up to par. How they are built to fall short, lack playmakers, lack talent at multiple levels, etc.

You act like no one is aware that our starting line-up isn't littered with 5 star prospects and then you do the same shit in recruit threads. We are rooting for ND. We're aware there are limitations on the roster. We're still rooting for ND.

In this particular thread, we have a true freshman WR who is making some of the biggest contributions we've had from a frosh (along with his classmate JG) and you guys show up to take a shit right in the middle and then tell us it's our fault if we don't like the smell.

Flores has done very well as a freshman and most of us are looking forward to him developing through this season and beyond. I don't care if he becomes a #1 or if he's #4. Personally, I see some TJ Jones, but it's irrelevant. We just want to see him continue to succeed.

Many words, little said.

Everyone's been complimentary of Rico. Everyone's happy he's here. That said, WRs compliment each other and IDK if you (or others) understand the difference between field/boundary, but no one on ND's campus thinks Rico is a field for physical reasons. And that is perfectly fine because guys like Cam Williams and Braylon compliment him - but he's not a burner and likely never will be. That in no way means he sucks, etc

There should be a sub-board for ND fans who to actually discuss games/coaches/team and how best to utilize without people freaking out.

Cute. You’re on a site that is intended for ND fans and just about every post you make is, at best, playing devil’s advocate. However, I don’t think that’s why you keep lingering around here. Perhaps you are more objective than some on here, but I think you just get off on riling up true ND fans. You’re much more likely to be an ND hater that tries to disguise it a little. Whatever it is, you’re incredibly tiring imo, but I’m the type that tries to distance myself from negative people.

Yep, just as I thought. Still don't get it.

I have no issue whatsoever of having real conversations about expectations and valuations of the players and coaches that make up the ND football program. The problem lies with the absolute constant negativity.

And I am one of the most chill people you would ever meet.

We did just beat the devils.

Actually, i'm a little shocked people don't want to assess players more here. It's almost like the players need to continue playing so bad they don't even get on the field anymore before some posters can honestly assess them. A great example is, some posters were pointing out Clarence Lewis physical limitations after his frosh year, got hammered for that for awhile, now he only see's the field limited due to our transfer nickel struggling.

All i was doing was calling out the fact i was shocked at Rico not being a bit more athletic, and i felt that played into his lack of separation saturday night.

I enjoy objectively assessing our players/coaches to see what our strengths/weaknesses are and where we need to improve. Something simple like cutting at full speed is a key trait for WRs, getting in and out of breaks, etc and our team lacks that right now from multiple WRs. I think with our TE talent, RB talent, and at times Oline, we can off set that with smart game plans, that's just did not happen vs Duke.

It's not about being soft. It's that your takes are absolute garbage, and you come across as an asshole.
What's garbage? That rico actually is fast and i'm completely wrong?

I expect more succinct words from an "advanced degree" holder. The fact that you have an advanced degree is the biggest indictment of the education system in our country.

There is a sub-board for what you seek, go searching on the internet, I'm positive you'll find a better home.

I will say a lot of it is learning/mastering technique And getting more explosive. I remember Davante Adams first year in the NFL he couldn’t get separation to save his life not to mention he had the drops.

I’m pretty sure Ding LBerry is a burner account for Putup or vice versa. They’re very supportive of one another.
Another swing, another miss. Although I do appreciate his perspectives. He actually has something to say.

>50% of posts are "haha you're dumb (but I can't explain why).
