No disrespect to Salerno, but I hope these freshmen push for time and make Tobias, Thomas, and Tyree even better by pushing them, and then Salerno doesn't have to take the field.

From 6/20-6/22, OSU added Inniss, Tate and Noah Rogers to their existing WR commit Bryson Rodgers. Flores committed to ND in July. Was reported he favored OSU but he did not end up having a spot.

Do you know when Flores actually committed to ND?
I do.
And the “reported he favored OSU” wasnt accurate.
I saw the messages between him & the staff that say otherwise. OSU overrecruits & lets them weed themselves out. They told Flores he had a spot.

You are relying on crap people post that is public info on sites.
So much happens that’s the actual reality.
I posted the same stuff when Singer said Jayden Thomas wasn’t interested in ND.
I was shown a text message that said ND was Thomas’ leader.
So I posted that. (Singer lost his shit).
And of course Thomas committed to ND.

Same thing with Onye and Aupui and ND.
People were reporting ND was going after Aaron Armitage & another DL, and I straight up told them ND wasn’t. Then literally the next day Armitage puts out a top 3 without ND in it & people like Singer said they were “shocked” ND wasn’t in it. I flat out told him the day before ND passed on him & wanted Onye & Aupui.

A few years ago I was straight up told Will Shipley made his commitment edits with Clemson. For weeks after that ND insiders kept posting ND might be leading & blah, blah, blah. That’s why the girl who worked at Clemson 247 (who used to cover ND), put in a high Crystal Ball for Clemson, because she was also aware of the edits.
I told Singer & he got pissed, because Lance Taylor used him to spread info & Singer honestly believed Shipley was committing to ND. (Taylor player Singer like a drum).

This happens every year.
Things happen way differently than the public timeline.
I’ve got a hundred stories.
And I already know about crap happening with this class.

This is digressing. Whether or not he was guaranteed a spot in OSU’s WR core, my original comment holds true - this dude is a WR who ultimately chose us over OSU, who were very much in the running at various points of his recruiting cycle.

That’s a rarity + a testament to the type of WR Rico Flores is/may still become, regardless of whether or not he was a day-1 starter at OSU.

I think he’ll be ok, he just doesn’t have much speed or quickness

While it’s good to have an all-around perspective here, which you have, he’s a freshman.

I don’t think he will ever be the truly elite #1, but I see him potentially as a dependable #2 guy as his ceiling.

I know where are missing “a guy” out wide, but I’ll take him being a solid player during his career. Every college roster needs a solid player.

Kirk did a good job of pointing out too that Flores running a crisp route opened up Evans multiple times. Given Evans game today, we’ll take the impact even if he only had a catch or two
