The three flips we have were from Stanford, Kansas State and Boston College.

Those were situations where ND was a game-changing offer for 3 guys that committed to mid-power 5 programs.

That shouldn't be happening to ND, especially if recruiting is the name of the game for MF.
I don't know that Notre Dame to Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia and soon to be USC isn't the same type of jump as Kansas State, Stanford and Boston College to Notre Dame.

Okay. Circumstance wasn’t really relevant positive or negative. Dylan Edwards was a previous target of both ND and DMC. We circled back to him. Wasn’t really a point any more or less than that.

If we’re addressing circumstance, I personally like Paige’s potential, but he was so lowly rated that he wasn’t even being factored our team recruiting ranking on one site, brought the average actually down on all of them. He becomes USCs crown jewel of their OL class. Good for them. Joins Vandy as a school who did similar recently.

Has anyone ever not committed to a school citing their out-of-conference schedule being too weak? Playing shit teams to extend your preseason seems to be the norm of just about every hight profile top tier team. Time to stop sticking our noses up and just play Marshall every week... oh wait.
SEC powers regularly schedule a big out-of-conference early. For example, Georgia since 2017 has scheduled big games early in 4 out of the 5 seasons ('20 doesn't count). They play Clemson again in '24 as well.

It's like some of the people here have just started following recruiting recently or something.

I'm fine with only taking 4 guys in this class at OL, use the scholarship on another WR or DL Guy
I suppose. It does put more pressure on Absher, Jagusah, Chan and Wagner. ND needs some stellar tackles from that group.

I think ND is fine at receiver, provided they close things out with Lyons and Love. I consider Edwards as a slot at the next level, who can occasionally line up at RB, while Love is the opposite, a RB who can line up at slot.

Bit premature ahead of the USC game
Regardless of any results this year, past or future, the OL has been an absolute constant more often than not.

One result at the end of this month doesn't change the fact that any OL with an offer from ND has a ticket for one hell of a ride if they want it.

I don't get this thinking, especially years before he would have had a chance to play at ND.

Did Tosh choose wisely?

Did Max Duggan choose poorly?
Max Duggar absolutely chose poorly. He should be in blue and gold right now!

This cat is already a pretty good pass blocker for a HS player. Harry's track record and total body of work speak for itself, but you can take out all the other stuff on his resume and just look at his two tenures at ND past and present. HH is the absolute mustard, and if you get the chance to play for him, you should do it.

I really wish he'd have chosen the Irish.

Oh well, he could've been the missing piece,
now our d-line gets to feast.

Not 100% sure but from reading earlier in this string, he is an AZ kid and USC circled back after some misses and he figured he would be the starting LT star there compared to his plight at ND so he bolted (or something like that).

Mike Frank thinks that Paige flipped because he didn't really have a relationship with any of the other 2023 commits at the time, and that if there was a CJ Carr type in the 2023 class who was constantly on campus for visits that he would've stuck.

At least taking him and the subsequent gossip mill didn't cost us Monre Freeling to then turn around and have him end up switching over to our arch rival and then play against us and then our starting left tackle is out for the season at which it'd be really really useful to have either him or Freeling ready to step in now instead of a five year bench rider, that'd a really would have sucked
