I’m not gonna read all of this shit but both sides have valid points. Some of you need to stop coddling these “children.” They’re not as unaware of their actions as some think. Their parents bear some responsibility for their kids’ diva behavior as well. None of them are above criticism. I spent 3 years as a Navy recruiter. Shitty job for sure. 16-20 year olds are mostly stupid. They’re generally a pain in the ass to deal with. Same with their parents. That said, don’t tweet recruits and call them losers or talk shit to them. That’s pathetic.

Agree.

ISD was told this morning by (presumably a family member) that it’s “swinging back to ND”…

They cautioned this update with saying that you basically can’t believe a word that you hear on this until he signs. He’s telling everyone what they want to hear to build drama or because he doesn’t know what to do after leading multiple teams down the same path or because he’s waiting to see if Bama has a spot for him or…

The Michigan 247 reporter is at the signing. Regardless of where he signs, this stuff really turns me off of recruiting. "Creating drama" is just not part of my vocabulary. If this is all the kid pulling the strings, then whatever that's his prerogative. But if it's the adults around him, yikes. Get a hobby that doesn't involve manipulating kids to make a social media splash.

As a parent, you want your kid to have fun with the process and everything, for sure. But if one of my kids was lucky enough to be recruited to play a sport, there is no chance I'm letting him pull this bush league shit.

This is the best take on this situation I've read.

I'm all for kids taking their time and making a decision. But stuff like this is so dramatic that it almost makes me wonder if they're doing it for the clicks

Definitely. There is no other reason but attention. I, for one, would not be the slightest surprised to hear Starbucks douche himself wasn't behind some of this.

Not all parents are mature.

This is very accurate. I’m not saying this is the situation here, but some parents encourage this stuff and want all the spotlight on their kids. Those parents probably have a Tik Tok account too.

Latest update from ISD - a source close to the family let the cat out of the bag that he’s signing with Michigan. So he’s just been dragging ND along to make a dramatic splash.

Great. Just as we all feared. One of the few things I liked about Coach Weis was he made it abundantly clear that “If you’re looking, we’re looking”. Maybe ND did the same here but their actions don’t support it. I realize it’s a fine line b/c they feel like they have a legit shot at the kid but if boundaries aren’t drawn then the recruit can run all over you. Best of luck to the kid unless he faces ND.

I'd imagine we will be seeing some offers go out to WRs tonight.

I'm hoping this has already happened and the talking heads are sitting on it to not ruin their moment.

The coaches couldn't possibly be blind sided by this if they have been reading IE.
