Between this and Walker probably flipping, they absolutely need to get some new WR offers out there. Under no circumstances can they sign a one-WR class after how many misses they've had at the position.

Also, fire Del as soon as you can. Preferably into the sun?
Careful. The IE police won't like you stating the obvious...

Agreed. The 2021 class was a hit, but 2020 (Zero), 2019 (Zero), 2018 (1) and 2017 (Zero) is absolutely unacceptable and cause for dismissal.

How are you only counting one in 2018? Like sure the other listed years were bad and could justify the firing alone, but our two current starting outside receivers are from that class. Both Lenzy and Austin have been pretty good when healthy and eligible. Sure there’s room for improvement, but they shouldn’t be considered the black mark on Del’s resume

Getting dominated in the semi-final last year finally lit a fire under BK's ass and forced him to not be lazy/complacent and he went out and brought in arguably the best young DC in the country who is also a top-notch recruiter. Perhaps Riley going to USC and/or a blowout loss to UGA in the CFP will light another fire under BK's ass and force him to bring in a WR coach who is a top-notch recruiter.

astounding, insightful, piercing. I could go on.......................

I forgot Lenzy was categorized as an ATH. My bad.

That said, Lenzy has barely had an impact in his career. We pretty much didn’t even see him for his Junior season. Does adding one to the list of that many misses really change the picture?

I'd include Joe Wilkins, as well. Overall, I'd say the 2018 group turned out okay..

Does not exclude the dismal 2019-20 failures (a fireable offense IMO) though.

I agree with your general sentiment but this part bugs the heck out of me. Lenzy has as many touchdowns in 2 full seasons as Chris Finke (who was undeniably a contributor) had in his career. Maybe you had higher expectations but to say he’s barely had an impact is beyond hyperbolic

Finke was a walk-on, while Lenzy was a highly recruited four-star talent. For them to have had roughly the same impact (I’d argue Finke was more impactful) says something for sure and I’m not sure what that is. It doesn’t seem unrealistic to have higher expectations for a recruit of Braden’s caliber than I do for a walk-on.

Recent quotes:
“He’s a great offensive coach, the big things I was looking for in the new hire was someone who could help with the culture and someone with an offensive background. Riley is both of those and they have always had a great offense geared towards the passing game so I think it was a great move.

I will definitely bring that up [not being offered by Oklahoma]. I’m not sure if it was because they got full at receiver early on or what the reason was but I thought I was definitely good enough to get an offer from them.

I’ve been staying in contact with Marshall Cherrington at USC, he’s been my main recruiter and they’re supposed to come in for a home visit this week. I think that will be on Wednesday so we’ll see how that goes.”

It's alright. C.J obviously wants to be hated.

Staff need to go find another WR because CJ obviously doesn't want ND.

Yea this is gonna suck, but I’d rather it go down like this than the Walker situation (if he ends up flipping to Michigan). Double kick in the balls that they are two likely future studs at a position of need…

Who has he been talking to media wise with all of these comments? Where has the ND recruiting beat been at?

What a freaking disaster. Legit shot we have four scholarship receivers if Lenzy and Austin leave.

Where the hell could lenzy go that would put him in a better position to produce than ND if we have four scholarship receivers?

Would be a major blow. And with Walker still up in the air and none of the ‘22 QB’s likely, offensive receiving could go out with a dud.

Yep, in that quote, he basically said "yeah, sucks they didn't offer," but already went on to provide an excuse for Riley and his staff without even knowing the facts.

Have to go find plan B and C (for Walker, just in case).

Either BK has to hit a home run with his at home visit or Lincoln for some reason doesn't want CJ if he can flip someone else would be best bets of sticking

Doubt it. This moved quickly

Even if Riley wants someone else more, wouldn't Riley have to consider going for him anyway if only to keep a California kid at home?
