Pretty nuts fact. I guess this makes Wisconsin fans somewhat right to act like they just landed like a top Top pick. He is to them.

he'll be the best WR on the roster but the badgers don't have the QBs that USC does. penn st. may have been a better fit.

well he left USC because of lack of targets so going to a school where he will be the best WR makes sense tbf

To be fair Wisconsin has much better QBs now than they did in in November, and he will be the best WR on their roster, as opposed to one of several comparably-talented guys at ND. CJ probably made the right move for his career here.

Colzie, Thomas, Tobias, and even Styles are all better WR's right now that doesn't even county the freshman coming in.
I am not sure about Styles and Colzie.

The bigger concern is experience. I hope ND gets one more WR with legit game pressure experience to compliment our new QB.

Colzie really came on towards the end of the season. If he puts in the work he could be quite good. Also a very different type of WR than Williams. Time will tell on Styles.

Regardless, I wouldn't mind one more either but if you want someone with experience, it wasn't going to be CJ. Not sure who's still out there in the grad transfer market.

I would've taken CJ Williams if he was serious about coming back to ND.

I think right now with our WR core it is potential vs. production. All of these guys have potential but who has consistently produced on Saturday's? There have been injuries, slumps, and ND doesn't have a #1 true WR out of this group.

Mayer is gone and so is Pyne. I thought Styles was better with Coan and having Hartman will hopefully better him. Colzie, Thomas, Merriweather and the in coming freshman are a great name on paper. If Hartman is going to have stats like he did at Wake Forrest who will be his #1 out of our WR group or will it be more than 1?

That being said about CJ Williams if he transfers again out of Wisconsin I hope Notre Dame isn't even mentioned.

Expected him to do big things at UW but its not that great so far 15 catches for 148 yards no touchdowns in ten games

To be fair to CJ, Fickell and Longo have a ways to go before they can get that offense to look like 2023 vs what has been at Wisconsin for the last 30 years. They have 8 passing TD all year so far in 10 games but are only rushing for 154 yards per game to go with that.

Knowing nobody wants to wait for anyone to build anything anymore, I suspect they're going to need to get cracking this spring on getting it to look better. Being bowl eligible only helps them, and they still need another win.

Definitely an odd fit for the type of offense Longo wants to run. Likely why they did it, needed change. But that’ll be a process. Hopefully Wiscy lets them see this through.

He's there #1 WR - not sure where he'd be in the rotation for us so good for him

I'd guess he'd be getting less playing time than a healthy Greathouse, but other than that probably more than KK Smith/Micah Gilbert. Notably, he was Pauling's teammate for two seasons and had lesser stats/played behind him both times.
