Who was the last committed player who visited another school with his family and still signed with ND? Has a Junior commit ever done it?

Terry Jillery visited LSU multiple times. Not sure if the fam was with him or not.

I think Houston Griffith was a whirlwind recruitment. I think they received all sorts of mixed signals from him and his camp and he did a bunch of stuff that took patience from the staff to get through. I don’t think he ever visited anyone when he actually committed but some guys have challenging recruitments and others have easy ones. All I’d do is have a stern conference call with Greg and his family and ask him, “are you all in and done taking visits? Or are you still looking? If you are, totally fine but we’re moving on and gonna recruit over you.”

True but Jerry was very spiritual when it came to visiting ND. Remember he wanted to meet Father Hesburgh during his visit.

Not much, Loy reached out to him and he said no comment. Until we hear more, I'd guess this is a future decommit.

The only difference between I have no comment and I am not committed is autocorrect.

Publicly cut that cord.

What would you possibly see in Mich that would be better than ND except the women? Mich has not been as successful academically nor athletically. How do you visit on a week that the team you visit squeaks out a win vs a team that was barely top 75 and come away with a positive feeling towards their program?

Did Mich just line him up with some hottie for the weekend or what? Jeez if that is the case, any SEC team should invite him for a trip.

Hottie? Have you been to Michigan?

Playing time

That’s gonna be the biggest negative facing ND’s oline. Stacking talent creates that issue. It’s a great one to have. The 2021 class will be looking at 9 4*’s and 3 3*’s to compete against when arriving as freshman. That’s a loaded line but the winners of those competitions will be better off for it. If Crippen fears the competition then he won’t last 4-5 years at ND anyway so it’s okay to lose him. If he’s willing to compete then sign him up

Kid doesn't realize a "no comment" speaks volumes.

1000% He would be starting this year IMO. Loved that kid

Well I mean, I bet he would've been starting over Kraemer last year, which of course means he would've been starting this year. Or perhaps after Bars' injury, Kraemer takes over and therefore we still don't see Banks.

From a connected poster at II, he hasn’t been a commit since the UM visit (staffs decision). Not sure why he isn’t announcing it as such. I’d assume he’s waiting for another school to greenlight a commitment.

So ND is letting Crippen "decommit" to save face and commit to another school?

The I'd assume part is just that, me assuming the kids intentions because otherwise it doesn't make a lot of sense. The poster at II said that he hasn't been a commit since the UM visit. Maybe just focus on that part of it.

I would guess the staff doesn't want to get into the business of outing prospects. Otherwise, I have no idea why it's not public yet.

Part of me thinks they already have, but I haven't done enough asking around to confirm because he isn't good enough for me to care about as a '21 recruit.

So can we use an wolverweasel expression whenever a recruit chooses other than Anne Arbor, "whew, dodged a bullet"?

My guess is because schools cannot comment on unsigned (NLI) prospects. They can't comment beyond a #WeAreND hastag when they commit and can't comment when they decommit.

Obviously. That’s not what I meant. They could certainly give info to the paid sites to put out there which is how the paid sites make a living. But they aren’t doing that or don’t seem to be, in this particular situation.

I've seen many schools comment about pulling an offer which ND could do. Long time until signing day for him so no need to "pull offer" or out him if ND still wants a chance to flip him back
