Biggest reason that we lost is that we were playing Tressel ball in that game. There is no world where ND (or anyone) can win scoring 14 points against Ohio State.

There are infinite worlds were that happens. If DJ and Harper made one play on the final drive, ND does it. If ND chooses to play 11 men...

A day or two after the game I watched the last few minutes and counted eight or nine close plays where if we'd just made the play or the break had gone our way, we would have won. Alas...

It's not a gimmick offense, it's an offense built around being aggressive and attacking downfield with receivers that make plays. And our OC/HC basically scoffed at the very idea of attacking and being aggressive. Should've been a huge red flag in hindsight for how the 23 season was going to go.
It was a gimmick offense. There is no other way to describe it.

The hate for it stems from their refusal to teach or share the finer points of it with other coaches after what happened to them in the wakeyleaks scandal tbh

Stats are stats?

Hartman against Duke...

He led a game winning drive, in the moment, that always wipes a shitty performance away for me. After I'm outside of my happy vibes from a win, I go back and see a poor performance in the stat book. I go rewatch a game where Hartman didn't play well. He showed some mental toughness and perseverance in a come from behind win.

So was Duke a game worth remembering Hartman fondly or do I should I use stats to judge Hartman's performance?
Read the post below yours- ND was without 3 WR's vs Duke. 16 of those 17 yards rushing above won us the game.

My argument here is Hartman would be in a better position in 2024 than 2023 because of a better OC and WR's, he would have more potential to put up 2022 stats like he did at WF, and the team would win more.

In 2022 at WF 1 WR put up over 1,000 yards and 4 other WR's put up over 500 yards. Stats are stats, right bro?

I feel like the 2023 team had too much hype and didn't live up to expectations.

The 2024 team I think can live up to the expectations. Leonard is in a great situation.

The hottest actress isn't hanging out with a college kid!? Huh.

We'd really need to ramp up the NIL game to get Sweeney money.
