Screw it, bring in DJ. I want the chaos.
to reunite with his old OC, makes senseRumor is Armstrong to Syracuse
well this was apparently the route taken last year which MF said they regretted right?ND is going to have a lot of options regardless of what happens with Card. But you have to be asking yourself how many of these guys hitting the portal have NFL futures? If you can't get an NFL guy, there's almost no point in taking someone just to take someone.
I dunno. After this season I think there’s value in having even just a competent P5-level starter (Slovis, Vandy guy, whoever) who can play if needed. If Buchner beats him out, fine, he’s still there in case of emergency.ND is going to have a lot of options regardless of what happens with Card. Lax, who do you want?ND is going to have a lot of options regardless of what happens with Card. But you have to be asking yourself how many of these guys hitting the portal have NFL futures? If you can't get an NFL guy, there's almost no point in taking someone just to take someone.
Well the hope would be Card is an NFL guy,... correct??ND is going to have a lot of options regardless of what happens with Card. No inside info, but my guess is Daniels or Slovis. If ND had taken a quarterback last offseason, I wonder who it would have been?
If he graduates this month it's smooth sailing. I've heard he may not actually be able to get his degree from Texas this month which would throw a wrench in things. If he has another semester to go then things go sideways pretty quickly and you're talking about either having to make "exceptions."
Card. I was sorta on the fence but my dad is friends with a big money Texas booster guy who basically said he's better than Ewers and would've won the competition had it been fair. If that's even remotely close to being true then he's exactly the kind of dual threat QB that can take ND's offense up a notch with our OL/running game.Lax, who do you want?
So no quarterback. Got it.Card. If we don't get Card, it'll be because an SEC team made an offer to good to refuse or admissions fucked up and I really hope it's the former not the latter.
Maybe get a new OC who is better at evaluating QB's?
Can’t remember the source, but I remember hearing a school out west (Oregon St?) had inquired about Daniels & they were given the bare minimum that he required which included a huge rental house among other perks. No inside info, but my guess is Daniels or Slovis.

Wow same thing happened to me, except I didn't find out about a missing credit until spring semester of my senior year. I was missing a social science credit even though my major was a social science. Notre Dame's reasoning was that it needed to be a social science course outside of my major. I tried to appeal this and wrote to the dean committee to waive this requirement but they unanimously rejected it. My only option was to take a summer course - I was poor at the time so there's no way I could take it at ND in the summer. You would think this shit is straight forward, but honestly "credits" and such can be super stupid. Administrators at colleges are idiots sometimes (as are their systems that they rely on to know whether someone in on a "degree track" or satisfied requirements for a degree).
I have a long personal story I won't waste all your time with the details but when I was at ND I had an adviser make an "oopsie" telling me I tested out of statistics (turned out engineers had to take a special one that the AP exam doesn't preclude you form) and I didn't find until I was heading into my senior year and it wouldn't let me sign up for some specific 400 level engineering courses. Ended up having to do summer school in a foreign country to get the credits or I literally wouldn't have been able to graduate on time.
Bottom line is that athletes have weird class schedules to accommodate practices and credits and it's really easy for someone to get in a situation where they're like "oops you need 3 more credit hours." And I'm not saying that's what's happening here and he's short credits, I just know that he intimated to ND that he'd graduate this December and if that holds true we're good. Also, add onto that Card is a business major and getting a real degree here.
Pete Sampson on the podcast said that the top target for QB is Michael Pratt without actually saying his name.

His bio lists his major as Exercise Science so if he isn't graduating in December I'm not holding my breath.Pete Sampson on the podcast said that the top target for QB is Michael Pratt without actually saying his name.
