Louisville ranked 25 in both. ND will play four straight ranked teams. Sadly, the streak will stop with Pitt because Narduzzi sucks ass.

I’m assuming Gameday will be in Austin next week, so the Irish unfortunately won’t get 3 straight weeks. As much as I love the extra attention Gameday brings ND, I’m sure the coaches and players could use a break from the extra press responsibilities that Gameday brings. Still could potentially get Gameday vs USC the following week, but I doubt they’d do it twice at the same location 3 weeks apart. I assume they’ll be in Seattle for Oregon vs Washington that week (neither play this week, so it’s a lock for a top 10 matchup).

They hadn't been to Notre Dame in a decade so coming twice in a month seems unlikely. That Pac-12 game will be a big one.

Game day isn’t what it used to be but it still brings a ton of pressure.

And our young couching staff could use a break from the prime time attention.

UT vs OU is in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl. Always a spectacle with the Texas State Fair going on. perfect location for Gameday.

I understand we are a 2 loss team, but it pisses me off we are right behind Duke and USC in the coaches poll

I normally don’t complain about rankings after self-inflicted wounds, but I agree.

Fully expected to be around 15th after last night, which I think is justified.

The loss to OSU carried zero negative weight, so I guess the one to Louisville will be the rainy disaster in Michigan, where they refused to budge on the polls the rest of the season

Beat Clemson and we should be in the top 10 by the time we play another game.

Half the teams ahead of us will lose at least one more game.
Texas
Ok
UW
Ole Miss
Bama
Penn State
LSU
OSU will lose at least once. All these teams should already have one more loss.
We should have one more win. That came down to coaching.

Even FSU is vulnerable but they don’t really play anybody but you never know.

It will come down to who loses. Many of those teams will stay ranked ahead of us with a loss.

Think the general flow without utter chaos is:

Georgia- ahead of us unless they lose a regular season game and also the SECCG: highly unlikely

Michigan-ahead of us unless they lose to PSU and OSU: highly unlikely

OSU- ahead of us no matter what. Loss to UM or the B1G is still just one loss: Impossible

FSU- ahead of us unless they lose a regular season game and the ACC title game: highly unlikely

Washington-ahead of us unless they lose a regular season game and the PAC title game: highly unlikely

Oregon- ahead of us unless they lose another game: could happen

Texas/Oklahoma- ahead of us unless they lose another game: could happen

Alabama-ahead if us unless they lose again: could happen

Penn State- ahead of us unless they lose to UM: Highly likely

Ole Miss-ahead of us unless they lose another game: Highly likely

I think it’s safe to assume when we win out, we will be above PSU and Ole Miss for sure, and possibly a few others. I’m not sure how much of a punishment losing a CG will be for anyone however, seeing ND doesn’t even have to play one.

Top 10 is a virtual lock. Now go win these games.

The only one that matters is the last one. They make them new every week.

No gnashing from me. We aren’t going to the playoffs. What does it matter whether we are 12 or 15?
And who cares if Ohio St is ahead or behind Michigan? They play each other.

It matters (eventually) in that the CFP committee doles out the NY6 spots. So, ND will need to be, at worst top 11, better if they are top 10 by year's end.

In Josh Pate’s “JP Poll”, which is effectively another formulaic power ranking, we sit at 9th, Same as SP+. Clemson not ranked.

ND finishes 14th in the AP Poll. Other 10-3 teams ahead of them are PSU, LSU, and Arizona.
