'Do Not Contact' tag?? He is going to reach out to schools I take it?

He got better towards the end of his freshman season, I thought he would've stayed at ND.

Part timer at Monmouth 23 minutes 9 points 8 rebounds. Probably means we aren't getting Foster.

Underwhelming addition.

Must be getting murdered in the NIL department. We are barely in the running for anyone decent.

Basketball seems to be much more wild than football with how kids go to the highest bidder.

Looking at just the player (as the team obviously needed better than this overall) - seems to be a competent back-up big who can play well above Zona-level. From the highlights I've seen, he seems to move fairly well, decent skill around the rim, and he's 6'10".

Plus, although it came with more excitement for potential; Njie and Booth combined to give 10 and 9 in nearly 45 mpg while shooting under 40%. Albeit in the ACC.

Agree Slick

He’s not the sexy big we want but I can see him performing well this year.

Has nice feet. Doesn’t give up on the possession when he picks up his dribble in the paint. Makes his own shot. Long steps to put himself into position for a shot. Seems pretty nimble for a big man. More athletic than Zona. Not a three point shooter. Strong hands with the ball. Ball is always moving, making it hard to get away without causing a foul. Obviously all from his highlights but looks to be a contributor letting him be himself.

He’ll be an upgrade to Kebba, IMO.

Adding again: hopefully there is a NIL plea after this portal is over with. I have hope there will be.

It doesn't help that their best recruit from last season, who also happens to be the son of the GM of the defending NBA champions, played a year and bailed to go to U of I. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the program.

I think I need to add to my prior comment lest it be taken in the wrong way.

I am in the camp that this is a multi-year project, just like it is/was for Marcus. The circumstances are different, but anyone making judgments off one year doesn't understand the circumstances of either program. Micah is dealing with a situation where guys essentially have 1-year contracts and then can go into free agency (Marcus does too, but the FB team is different from the MBB team for reasons I think are apparent to people willing to acknowledge the status of the respective programs).

With the caveat that the NCAA is in a state of flux, as it stands now the situation seems to be this: until Micah can show an ability to produce a winning product and/or an ability to put guys in the NBA, he is at risk of losing his best players to programs that do those things. Conversely, he will have a hard time selling the program to kids looking for those things.

In a bubble I don’t mind the transfers they’ve brought in because Shrews clearly wants to build a team from the ground up and not rely on the grad transfers. The last two guys are certainly upgrades over Zona. And then Allocco shot over 40% from 3 and will be an integral part of the rotation. If booth didn’t transfer, I wouldn’t have even batted an eye at these last two guys.

Burton
Shrews
Allocco
Davis
Njie/Konstannovskyi

That’s an improved 5 from this year. Gives them flexibility to go big shifting Davis to the 3 and using both Njie & Kon.

I’d feel this is a fringe tournament team if Booth stayed. Maybe it still is.

Of the 3 transfers I like Allocco the most and hopefully Konstannovskyi can be a better Zona.

ND does have a good incoming freshman class and it's too bad they couldn't add size in the class, hopefully they can make a run at landing Trent Sisley for 2025.

Too bad Booth didn't stick out the tough love coaching of Shrews, but what Daddy Booth didn't like; he didn't like and he will be in the portal again if Underwood coaches him the same at Illinois or the NIL will satisfy him.

I won't call the portal pickups underwhelming yet, but of all the kids in the portal I would've like to see ND add someone from a power5 school.

Coach Shrews is still building; I believe the patience will pay off.

Need to start getting butts in seats and Ws in the columns to see NIL for MBB improve I’d bet.

Which is possible because our young core should just improve and hopefully these additions can fill some gaps. Compete in the conference and maybe we’ll see a bit more help in the portal come our way.

Obviously young Shrews isn’t going anywhere. But if, let’s say, Davis has another promising year and outperforms, & an average season at best for the team, what’s not to say he doesn’t transfer to a better program for his last year? Burton too.

Point being, this transfer portal season clearly showed there is a desert’s worth of NIL in the program.

Still at zero commits for the 2025 class as some of our top targets have committed elsewhere. We are in on some high end guys and they usually commit later but I haven't seen where we lead on anyone in that category.

Hope we land some high school guys, don't want to be one of those programs that rely heavily on the portal.

Shrews is still in on some key Indiana guys that haven't committed. With football season getting ready to start, Shrews will have an opportunity to get these guys on campus for a game.

It is nice to see that Notre Dame is a college listed as a finalist.

I agree with you, I want to see high school guys commit vs hitting the portal.
