I think the OL has made some great strides the past two games and they finally found the right mix of dudes up front to be more productive running the ball. Loved what I saw from Coan getting the ball out early and up-tempo, and I think we see more of that. Buchner runs for 50+ in this one; UNC's track record against scrambling QBs is well documented and they'll give him more snaps than he got last week against the Trojans.

Obvious concern is no KH....So I think Howell and his weapons will attack us downfield early and often. They'll connect on some big plays early. ND with a tight 17-14 lead at halftime.

Rees will continue to pound the rock with Kyren and he breaks loose for a 65 yard run early in the fourth quarter once the defense begins to fatigue, and we'll go up two scores. ND will hold serve there.

ND 34-UNC 24

This game makes me nervous. I don't think this offense can win a shoot out even against a bad defense so the points have to stay relatively low. Heck, I just don't think this offense can score a lot of points, period. That's what makes me nervous. VT's QB had success on broken plays and I'm more concerned about Howell doing so. I think we do just enough on offense to stay ahead of the chains and control the clock. While we get a TO or two, that sets UNC back. I'll go 31-24, ND. If UNC scores 34+, I think we lose.

I can't remember if it's here or on ISD that someone shared that UNC is undefeated this year while scoring 35+, but hasn't won a game scoring less than 35.

I did not know that. They've had some wild games. If this game turns into one of those, I think we lose.

Idk why, but the UNC game in 2006 sticks out as clearly as any game of the BQ/Weis era. It was a game that UNC held around most the game before ND putting it away in the late third or early fourth, and featured a Zbikowski TD.

I bring that up because I could see a similar type of game. ND is up by a TD or 10 for much of the game before a long TD drive in the fourth. The offensive line progression should continue as UNC is 80th in rush defense and 78th in sacks.

I'm going out on a limb this week with ND getting a big margin of victory. I think the two offensive philosophies (Coan and quick tempo and TB as the running QB) are too much for the Carolina defense to handle. This will be ND's highest scoring game of the year to date.

Go Irish!

I think you're on track here. UNC have struggled against decent D's and ND's is better than decent. O-line takes another step forward.

41- 23 KW has another big day. I imagine NC’s QB has a good day in the air along with positive numbers on the ground. The defensive line has a good day. We will the turn over battle. Styles has some good numbers so does Austin. Another win for the Irish!

My incredible research has indicated that North Carolina is pretty bad on the road and except for one blip against a top 5 team Notre Dame has been pretty, pretty, pretty good at home. Mack Brown will consult his cup of Ensure at half time for signs but all it will reveal is that he has to endure 30 more minutes of pain.

Notre Dame - 31
Basketball School - 14
