So, the new name at DE that has been getting some traction, of late, at II and ISD is IN DE Austin Booker. Our very own BeauBenken was talking about this guy awhile back.

Center Grove and Avon don't play in the regular season, but could we see Austin Booker and Blake Fisher match up in the playoffs?

It's possible, but not until the Semi-State. Avon is in 6A Sectional 5 and CG is in 6A Sectional 8.

Last year Avon lost to Brownsburg in the Sectional Semis, while CG advanced to State, prior to getting edged by Carmel.

TE (1-2)
0.9571 4 IA Thomas Fidone
0.9561 4 CA Brock Bowers
0.9338 4 FL Michael Trigg
0.9311 4 GA Cane Berrong ND
0.8871 3 CO Sam Hart OSU

2021 Roster (5)
RS JR George Takacs
RS JR Tommy Tremble
SO Michael Mayer
RS FR Kevin Bauman
FR Cane Berrong

Everything I've heard and read says ND is going after 2 TE's this cycle. I hope, for ND's sake, that is only the right two guys. I hope they go after a big time second guy and not just take a guy for the sake of taking one. I think that's exactly what they're doing considering they've only got open offers out to Thomas Fidone (Top 6), Brock Bowers (Top 8), and Michael Trigg (outside Top 20). McNulty has followed only 3 other 2021 TE prospects who don't have offers yet.

.8913 3* Terrance Ferguson
.8749 3* Erik Olsen
.8660 3* Max Llewellyn (IA Commit)

My guess is they'll continue to recruit Fidone and Bowers until the end of their recruitments and they might have a shot at Fidone if they get him on campus at some point. Curious to know if they'll expand the net and maybe offer Ferguson, Olsen, Llewellyn or someone off the radar.

BGI recently said it’s a 1 + 1 situation where they’re only going to take another if it’s one of the top guys. Fidone, Bowers, etc.

Thanks! That's what I figured. They're good with numbers so it makes sense to add one only if it is a top dude. They're already in it with a few 2022's too on McNulty's twitter follows.

There's a scenario where 3 commits could technically give them the adequate numbers in this class. I think they'll end up taking 4 and then it'll be a +1 scenario for the 5th spot like LuckyLucci had mentioned for the TE spot where they could try and flip a Tengwall, Milum or get Rucci on board. I really hope the staff wins the battle for Spindler cause he seems like the last realistic shot at a big time prospect with no more visits on the horizon. If things open back up I really hope they go after the guys I mentioned. Fisher and Coogan is a nice start, but after reading NDCrusader's posts about this 2021 class and just how epic it could be, I can't help but feel ND could do more. All in all though, if they get through Coronavirus with Spindler, Fisher, and Coogan on board then that's still a better haul than most squads out there.

I really think they should go for 4. 2 last year plus 3 this year just doesn't seem like it'll be enough in 2022. Low numbers in some of Hiestand's last classes is what put ND in a bad position OL-wise in both 2018 and 2019.

By taking 3 they'd need a 4-5 man class likely in the 2022 class. It isn't as bad as Hiestand had it before he left, but they do need numbers. I agree that 4 guys would be perfect. I just hope it is the right 4 guys.

Should be noted that with the confidence system in place I think they are pushing for guys to toss in CB's. As you can see, Allen Trieu who is plugged into Midwest recruiting has his UM CB at 2. Wiltfong is at a 6. These are not uber confident picks that indicate something is imminent as much as they are guys getting in picks for top players with this new tech 247 came out with.

These posts are interesting to me. Would you rather have UM's class, as of today? You'd be happy with 6 out of 16 commits outside the top 500? They have 3 non-ST's players outside the top 800. An avg. rating of 89.10. They have 2 DE's that are 800+. The star of their class didn't even want to go their until he was told no by ND and OSU.

I understand that. I would take ND’s right now. Yes. But it seems UM has some momentum and are in the lead for some guys.

Talking about guys around the 800 mark? Sounds like that’s the guys ND is trending towards.

I am not a big complainer on here when it comes to recruiting. But you honestly can’t tell me you aren’t a bit concerned.

Only kid we've even offered close to that ranking level is Joe Alt.

I am not concerned, but I wonder how long the NCAA will keep prolonging the dead period. We need the summer to recruit.

As Beau already stated, that's just not true. And that is the problem I have with these types of posts. Too much venting for personal gain and no substance. For example, the WR haul that seems pretty likely, which has everyone upset, would have Thomas (4 star, 184th), TMA (4 star, 289th), and Lewis (3 star, 423). But that's comparable to 800+, c'mon man. That's a waste of time.

I am a bit concerned and I have, on numerous occasions, taken the time to try to articulate what I feel is wrong with recruiting, how they can fix it, guys they can target, etc. While also acknowledging that it's clearly not all that bad, which it isn't.

If you feel like UM has a better class than us, great, let's discuss that. But you don't, as you just stated, you just wanted to throw shade at the staff and program, for whatever reason only known to you. You want throw shade at them for recruiting 3 star RB's but praise UM's class for being made up of 50% 3 stars. Doesn't seem productive.

Honestly, Michigan will finish with a bunch of 4* OLinemen which is awesome for them, but ND's class will be better. It is better from average rank and Michigan just has more dudes and will take a bunch more dudes. McCarthy is a stud but so is Buchner. It seems very likely they could end up with

.9666 4* Giovanni El-Hadi
.9171 4* Raheem Anderson
.9089 4* Greg Crippen

and 1-2 of these guys

.9786 4* Rocco Spindler (50-50 in CB's ND/MICH)
.9647 4* Garrett Dellinger (100% CB to LSU but in his Final 4)
.9522 4* Drew Kendall (100% CB to Michigan)
.9227 4* Rayshaun Benny (In his Top 14)

So from a ratings perspective Michigan could have a better OLine class than ND's but other than Rocco Spindler, I'm not convinced how much ND wanted any of these dudes. Warinner is recruiting well at Michigan but other than OLine I don't think Michigan has a better class than ND. The stingers from Michigan would be Spindler and Donovan Edwards. Outside of that, I'm cool with ND chugging along at their recruiting.

So two guys that are vying for one spot and 2 guys that don’t have offers. Seems like a reasonable response.

These posts are disingenuous. That’s not the entirety of the board, no need to act like it is. Just like we don’t need to complain about UM out recruiting us if we, in fact, wouldn’t trade classes with them.
