Whatabout dem Bengals!

For real though... they put a semi-competent guy at Right Guard instead of a traffic cone, and suddenly Joe Mixon has himself a day and Joe Burrow gets his first win.

Coincidence? I don't know, because I don't know much about the Jags defense. I know they are supposed to be decent, but I also know they are dealing with injuries.

BOB out in Houston

I legit thought that he was a good coach until recently. I thought he did very well in his short time in Happy Valley and thought he could be a good replacement for BK if things went a different way. I guess he just ain't a good coach

He might be a decent coach, but he's a terrible GM.

So does Houston hire two people now, one GM and one HC, or are they going to give GM powers to the HC again? Not liking the idea of the same guy holding down both jobs. Better hire two.

Dave Dombrowski and Mike D'Antoni probably the favorites.

Whoops. Carry on.

Fun game between the Bears and Bucs. I thought the Bucs would roll.

Bears just went up with 1:13 to go, but how dumb was it the Bears passed and didn't run clock once in FG range.

Brady now with some time to make a come back.

Yea, he looked pretty dumb.

Gronk should have caught that ball, so he may be getting old too.

That Bears win tonight makes me like my Colts win over the Bears on Sunday even more.

What's your feeling on this weekend's matchup vs the Colts?

You guys are the first decent OL we've played. Not sure if our D is for real, or just a paper tiger.

I would like to thank you for Carrie (CB) though. He's been a very solid depth DB for us so far.

We're without 2 of our 3 starting WRs, and 2 of our 3 LBs are questionable. What's the story on OBJ and Hunt? I saw you C, and 2 starting DTs are questionable too.

Good comeback win after an abysmal start to both halves.

What is it with Nagy and his garbage ass play calling and his inability to have a gameplan to start halves?

The Bears had 3 wins against teams that were combined 1-11. They just beat another 3-1 team, but I still don't know what to make of them. That Colts defense might be the best one they see all year (if this season continues).

Kyle Fuller's hit in the first half was a throwback knockout.

Yeah they remind me a lot of the Packers last year in that they are showing a knack to pull out the close games. 4-1 is nothing to sneeze at, regardless of how you obtained that record.

Was really hoping TB would win and put some distance b/t my Pack and da bears. No such luck, solid win.

So Tom Brady ran off the field without shaking Foles' hand?

He won't get burned for it, I'm sure, but I can imagine if it were most other starters in the League the pundits would be relentlessly hammering them for doing something of the sort.

Brady will get a pass on it, I'm sure.

FUN FACT: According to ESPN, Tom Brady had won 42 straight games dating back to 2015 when his team had led by at least 13 points, longest active streak for an NFL QB. But Bears snapped it tonight, rallying from 13-0 deficit to win 20-19.

He found out how the other half lives.

Belichick's Patriots had a certain discipline to them. Not a lot of penalties. Tampa is getting penalized at a clip that Brady isn't used to.

I probably wouldn't read too much into it, there was some noise from the peanut gallery about players and coaches shaking hands and embracing at midfield this season the first few weeks.

I know they all get tested, but after what happened with TEN, probably not the best idea.

Not sure if that's why TB decided to avoid the handshake despite shaking hands with other guys but he also doesn't strike me as a guy who would hold a grudge against Foles.

I read that he avoided Foles after the Super Bowl as well? I never thought about the Covid aspect of it because they're all out there and doing it. It's looking likely that this season could start to be in jeopardy soon.

I have always found the NFL post game QB handshake to be some weird fraternal type of photo op. The outside rush ends don't do it or even running backs. Then again, I'm sure these guys all have the same agents and such. It is the most highly recognizable position in sports in the end. Seems like it just draws more attention to it.

There was one point in the third quarter when Brady was screaming at his teammates. Depending on the individual, this is a coin toss as to who can do this without criticism and who gets lambasted for it. It's a bad teammate vs firey competitor thing. I guess he's got the equity to behave that way and gets away with it. I recall Peyton Manning saying in a post game press conference that there were "protection issues" and everyone freaked out about it.

It's all about perception and aura.

It's very interesting that Brady left the field with 7 seconds left and nobody batted an eye, but LeBron did it recently and everybody lost their shit.

PFF in preseason rankings placed the Chiefs secondary as twenty-fifth in the NFL. After having faced Lamar Jackson (Balt), DeShawn Watson, Justin Herbert and Hoyer/Stidham (Patriots) the Chiefs passing defense ranks third in the NFL based on passing yards per game.

One starting CB from 2019, Bashaud Breeland (2014 draft, rd 4 (102) by Washington, Signed by Carolina for 3 yrs but failed physical, Signed by Green Bay (9/26/18), Signed by Kansas City (3/19/19); Clemson) was suspended the first four games by the NFL.

The other 2019 CB starter, Charvarius Ward (PFF rating - 67.5, 28th/112 CB, UDFA 2018 - Dallas, traded to KC in 8/2018; Middle Tenn State) fractured his hand in the first game, had surgery and returned for their second game.

Rashad Fenton, (PFF rating - 74.4, 8th/112 CB), drafted in Rd 6 (201) in 2019, has started in the place of Breeland; out of South Carolina. Ranking 8th out of 112 CBs in his second year is noteworthy.

Rookie L’Jarius Sneed (PFF rating 69.3, 18th/112 CBs, 2020 draft, Rd 4 (138); La Tech) has seen significant playing time. Sneed broke his collarbone in the last game and has been placed on IR.

Antonio Hamilton - (PFF rating 53.2; UDFA, played for Oakland ‘16-17, NYG ‘18-19; a Free Agent signed by the Chiefs in the offseason; from S. Carolina St, has also seen playing time at CB, too.

Tyrann Matthieu is at one safety spot and Juan Thornhill, drafted in 2019 in the 2nd rd (63), returned from surgery to repair a ACL in 2019 and has been the other starting safety.

I think if Baker protects the ball then we should win handily,... he won’t tho,... my best guess is 32-23 in a nail biter.

The Steelers are 4-0 for the first time since 1979. This sounds completely crazy to me.

Chase Claypool is the bee's knees, but we already knew that.

Le'Veon Bell cut by the Jets. As a free agent in 2019, Bell signed a four-year, $52.5 million contract with the New York Jets. Bell will count $15 million against the Jets cap as Dead Money in 2020, dropping to $4 million next year. As for next year, the Jets now have the most cap space in the league with $80 million.

Bell was signed by the KC Chiefs for one year. In the past, the Chiefs have signed FAs with one year contracts for about $1 million. That sum will be subtracted from salaries counting against the $13 million the Jets owe him for this year. The Chiefs prior to Bell's signing have $6 million in cap space.

Why Le’Veon Bell is a perfect fit in Kansas City

From Bell's point of view, he still gets almost his full salary, tests the FA market next year for a long term contract, plays with off season friends with the opportunity to get a Super Bowl ring.

Nice to see the Chiefs rushing offense, with 245 yds. Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushing for 161 yards of those on 26 carries.

The OL is so different from last year which had:
LT 72 Fisher, Eric -- Erving, Cameron
LG 77 Wylie, Andrew -- WISNIEWSKI, STEFEN
C 62 Reiter, Austin -- Allegretti, Nick
RG 76 Duvernay-Tardif, Laurent -- WISNIEWSKI, STEFEN
RT 71 SCHWARTZ, MITCHELL -- Barton, Jackson

Only Allegretti returned from the backups.
Duvernay-Tardif opted out as did rookie OT Lucas Niang.
LG 70 OSEMELE, KELECHI signed in the offseason and has been starter, but is out for the rest of the season. Chiefs put Austin Reiter on the sidelines who aggravated a knee injuury, instead starting veteran center Daniel Kilgore. RT Mitchell Schwartz left the game after aggravating his back injury in the first quarter. The Chiefs had to move Mike Remmers — where he had been playing in place of the injured Kelechi Osemele at left guard — to right tackle,. Second-year interior offensive lineman Nick Allegretti on the field at left guard.

Reiters, Remmer, Osemele, and Kilgore are veterans who signed 1 or 2 year contracts and will be FAs next year. Le'veon Bell will join the Chiefs next week also signing a one year deal fo a million plus incentives.
