Still trying to figure out which part of Nebraska's 4-8 season last year warranted a Top 25 ranking

After watching Michigan I felt confident that if we beat Georgia the rest of the way seems ND seems like a good shot at a win. But watching SC, I’m not so sure. We have to get significantly better than we did last week to beat the Trojans. They look to have found their mojo.

USC is dialed in. Hopefully they're not this pumped up when we play them because this looks like Bama right now, and we know that isn't SC's norm. Of course, they're playing Stanford and those arrogant assholes piss everyone off.

I think the USC win had more to do with Stanford’s absolute crap defense than anything else. Aside from Adebo they have zero playmakers on that side of the ball.

Agree. I can't see USC taking such a big leap from last year. Improved sure, but it's too early to think they are a juggernaut.

I had my vibes criss crossed. I had OSU squeaking by Cincy and scUM beating Army fairly easily.

#7 Michigan vs Army - 12:00 PM - FOX
- scUM's offense needs to be at its best against a team that will drain the clock
- Shea Patterson got banged up last week
- I hope you took Army and the points... UPSET ALERT

- They were not
- He sucks
- Good call!

#20 Iowa vs Rutgers - 12:00 PM - FS1
- Rutgers actually threw the ball well for the first time in years last week
- Upset alert for a home favorite that might be sleepwalking at noon?

- Bad call!

#21 Syracuse @ Maryland - 12:00 PM - ESPN
- Maryland is probably going to be good under Mike Locksley... but how quickly?

- Pretty quickly, lol

BYU @ Tennessee - 7:00 PM - ESPN
- Does Tennessee get their act together after getting absolutely embarrassed last week?
- BYU could knock Tennessee out of contention for a bowl game after just two games for the Vols (!)

- Nope!
- LOL

#6 LSU @ #9 Texas - 7:30 PM - ABC
- Is Texas Back??? Or does Joe Burrow take the next step as an actual successful QB at LSU?

- Joe Burrow for Heisman

#10 Auburn vs Tulane - 7:30 PM - ESPN2
- I'm calling my shot... putting Auburn on UPSET ALERT right now
- Big Game Hangover + a surprisingly capable Tulane = at least close in the first half

- Good call!
- Would've been 'Great Call!' if Tulane doesn't drop an easy TD on a trick play

#23 Stanford @ USC - 10:30 PM - ESPN
- Battle of the backup QB's? KJ Costello is out for Stanford with a concussion, and JT Daniels is out for the year for USC

- Not worried about USC, yet. Frosh magic will wear off.
- Stanford is absolutely trash on the back end. Avoid Adebo and you're good.

Minnesota @ Fresno State - 10:30 PM - CBSSN
- Might actually be the most entertaining of the three 10:30 PM games

- Good call!

Looking ahead to Week 4...if Auburn @ Texas A&M gets scheduled for 3:30 we are going to have an epic set of games to watch.

Utah @ USC on Friday night
Michigan @ Wisconsin 12:00 PM !
Auburn @ Texas A&M 3:30??
ND @ Georgia 8:00 PM

I bet Oregon @ Stanford is the ABC primetime game so that will be something to watch during ND commercials.

For the love of.......

Get over yourself. Every team gets taunted. Play better.

I do remember there being a preseason warning that anyone who does the horns down will be penalized. I was happy to witness several with no penalties Saturday night.

I think they actually changed it, though, to where opposing players ARE allowed to do it now. They just aren't supposed to do it right in Texas' players faces, because that would constitute a taunting penalty as would making any gesture in an opposing player's face.

You're allowed to do it as a general signal after a score or in the direction of the crowd, just like you would the '#1' or 'Shhhh' signs.

Prior to this season, it was a penalty to do Horns Down in any fashion... but I think the Big XII finally realized how petty and stupid and how much favoritism it showed to Texas. If you're going to let them do Horns Up, you have to allow Horns Down.

I'm shocked that someone would claim the Big 12 shows favoritism to Texas....................

Almost as shocked as a bunch of SEC fans were on Twitter when they realized that the new ACC Network shows as much bias and deference to ACC teams as their own SEC network does with SEC teams lol.

I saw a few Tweets where Mark Richt did a segment comparing some ACC teams to SEC counterparts, and obviously was talking up the ACC teams, and SEC folks were SHOOK

Taunting --unless it's directed at an injured player-- should be encouraged.

ha, I don't doubt it... I just know from marrying into a mutli layered Big 12 family that there is this idea that the powers that be view the conference as:

UT Austin

Longhorns

Texas

Oklahoma

Texas Again

Everyone else

I think it's a big reason why Nebraska, Colorado, Mizzou and A&M all bounced.

It's dumb, but I get it at the same time. Texas could do their own thing and join basically any conference they want, and they'd be welcomed with open arms and almost all of their stipulations would be met.

There was a rumor floating around back before the last realignment shakeup that Texas and ND were both in talks to join the B1G to proactively address their own concerns with realignment. It got knocked down as bullcrap hypothesizing, but then it came out that there was actually some substance to it, and it fell apart because the ACC started to make nice, and certain people at ND felt better going that direction, considering ND's history with racist/prejudiced assholes in the B1G.

Texas was also connected to the Pac12, and supposedly not even A&M could prevent the SEC from letting Texas join if the Longhorns ever decide they want in.

The only other program that commands that kind of power is ND. I don't even think Oklahoma could jumpstart realignment on their own if they tried to leave the Big XII... they'd need Texas to agree to join whatever new conference they were trying to leave for.
