It’s one thing to “have the balls” to post something negative and a complete other to do it while actually being able to support it with logic and objective facts.

Can you tell me why Bilal is objectively one of the top 3 LBs on the 2019 team?

Moala can be the next Tranquil at Rover, though JOK could be a three-year starter if he keeps getting rave reviews and wants to exhaust his eligibility.

Kiser can focus on putting the weight on and be the next Tranquil at Buck.

And who will be the next Tranquil at safety? #allthetranquils

We really haven’t seen enough of the others to say for sure. But the fact that Bilal was a solid starter last season who was invited back for a fifth year would seem to suggest the coaches think he’s pretty decent.

I don’t think anybody is saying Bilal is great or even defending his play but the lengths you go to describe his play is ridiculous (and you know this). He does make plays just not enough. Some of what you said shouldn’t be a surprise, he was the smallest of the LB’s, last year. However, the dude would absolutely wreck you in an Oklahoma drill.

I think the Bilal discussion is a good one because there might be some difficult conversations inside the Gug this Spring/Fall but the way you go about it is childish and doesn’t make for a reasonable discussion.

Important reminder that Koon's fetish against Bilal started 3 years ago while pushing for Josh Barajas who might be *the* laziest recruit of the Kelly era.

And it started because he saw Bilal “loafing” on the backside of a play to the opposite sideline in the Blue and Gold game.

Pretty sure Brandon Tiassum got kicked off the team for laziness. I think he might take (and eat) the cake for laziest of the BK era.

I thought Tiassum picked it up the last year or so he was at ND. I thought what you are describing was more Pete Mokwuah.

Would have loved to see how he went under the new strength coach and Elko/Lea.

Barajas? Never would've worked out under Balis and Lea either. If you're thinking of giving guys a second chance, look to others who actually tried.

I dont know, Balis and Lea seem to be getting the best out of almost everybody.

Can't get the most out of somebody if they're not willing to put the work in.

A nice takeaway for me is how good Lacey seems to be playing. Unanimous that he looks like he belongs. And he’s got another 4 months to train. Jamie at ISD went as far as to say he’s ahead of all the recent freshman DT’s. Solid praise.

Very good to hear.

Any chatter on Hayes? Looks like he's put on some weight (up to 268). Little much for drop?

Tiassum was dismissed from the team along with Deon McIntosh, CJ Holmes, and Kevin Stephenson. Mokwuah grad transferred.

Seems like he had his best day yet. No change in position. Except in Nickel he’s brought in opposite Okwara and Kareem moves to 3 and MTA to NT, so everybody does.

Thanks LL.
Wish he'd red shirt (play 4 games or less).

Speaking of RS, didn't we hear earlier that BK planned to RS an upperclassman on the D? Anything on who that might be?

Yea, it’s confirmed that it’s Jamir Jones. Solid idea, they can have an extra year bridge between Okwara/Hayes/Kareem and Foskey/Nana/Ovie.

Thank LL. I saw 247 mentioned JJ might be that guy, but weren't very final on their prediction.

Obviously there are circumstances that could change that but it’s the plan as of today.

What's there to say? I didn't think we should have taken Kiser, and nothing's happened since to change my mind. Could I be wrong? Duh.

I agree. Any freshman that's not looking like an AA after just a handful of practices probably isn't going to work out.

All of that news is relatively exciting.

Agree, need both to raise their level this year. Anything from Ewell is a plus. If Hayes ratchet's it up a notch, our pass rush could be lethal.

How about historic?

It’s amazing to hear how good our two deep is at all four positions on the d line. Apparently they’ve been dominating our o line, not sure if good or bad for the o line or not. Excited to see them in action.

And to be fair to Daelin, he had 6.5 TFL's and 3.5 sacks last year. For comparison, Khalid Kareem had 11.5 TFL's and 5.5 sacks. Khalid also played 142 more snaps, almost 30% more snaps than Daelin.
