For some reason this year, there is an absolutely loaded class of Missouri and Tennessee wide receivers. And most of these receivers are 5h30m to 7h away from campus. I hope DelVaughn is able to pluck some of that ridiculous talent from those two states...

Cameron Coleman .9645 - MO - Visited 11/19/16, at IMG now
Marcus Washington .9588 - MO - 5h40m away
Lance Wilhoite .9499 - TN - 7h away
Kendrell Scurry .9394 - TN - 7h20m away
Trey Knox .9364 - TN - 7h20m away
TJ Sheffield .9186 - TN - 7h20m away
Jalani Williams .9144 - MO - 6h away

Hopefully they can get a bunch of guys on campus like Elston's doing with the DL and pick up some nice prospects!

St Louis is the town that intrigues me w/ all the Catholic school players:

Isaiah Williams - Trinity
Cam Coleman - St John Vianney before IMG
Marcus Washington - Trinity
Jameson Williams - Cardinal Ritter
Kryen Williams - St John Vianney

Jameson Williams is going to blow up. 6-2 and runs 10.5's in the 100m.

One public school kid to keep an eye on is 6-4 Maurice Massey. He'll visit ND for the Navy game.

Offers from Penn St, Wisconsin, Auburn, LSU, Duke, and more
Same HS as Alex Bars, Friends with Cole Mabry, Dad is Tennessee Alum
Says in the article he wants to visit for the NC State game. Is this happening?

Read somewhere recently that he's going to OSU this weekend. Penn St offered recently so that makes sense. Hopefully he comes up for Navy so he can hang with Olmstead.

you can use the "go advanced" function and then preview your post if you want to just put in text, so that you can play with the formatting/spacing and make sure it looks how you want before you post.

ND Dream OL Class 2019 (5-6 guys)

.9934 4* Devontae Dobbs - MI - 3h - 6/24/16 & 11/19/16 & 2/20/17 visits
.9648 4* Logan Brown - MI - 2h away - 9/17/16 & 10/21/17 visits
.9644 4* Quinn Carroll - MN - 7h50m - 4/2/17 & 10/21/17 visits
.9622 4* Darnell Wright - WV - 6h40m - Never Visited
.9447 4* Tyler Johnson - TX - FAR - 11/19/16 visit
.9436 4* John Olmstead - NJ - FAR - 6/23/17 & 11/18/17 visits
.9388 4* Caedan Wallace - NJ - FAR - 11/19/16 visit
.9374 4* Trevor Keegan - IL - 3h10m - 6/18/16 & 4/2/17 & 10/21/17 visits
.9252 4* Bryan Hudson - KY - 5h - 10/15/16 visit
.9205 4* Jackson Lampley - TN - 6h45m - 10/28/17 visit??
.9151 4* Zeke Correll - OH - 4h30m - 10/28/17 visit
.9031 4* Tanner Bowles - KY - 5h30m - 10/21/17 visit
.8865 4* Anthony Bradford - MI - 2h5m - 10/21/17 visit

ND needs a big number of OL in this class and they're off to an amazing start with just about every single one of those guys listed above making to ND at some point. I wonder what happened with Devontae Dobbs for him to be a probable top 5 OL in this class and going to ND 3 times and Harry passing on him. Also, I really hope they offer the trio of Logan Brown, Trevor Keegan, and Anthony Bradford. That's 3 6'5'' plus beasts who are close by and have all been to campus, especially Keegan. Also, what's the deal with Caedan Wallace? He goes to The Hun School in Princeton, NJ which is a very good academic school and is very interested in ND, are they reciprocating? He's a 6'4'' guard or center I would think. Exciting stuff on the OL and it will be an interesting winter and spring to see if they can get Carroll and Olmstead on board sooner rather than later so they can bring in some other big guns.

Recruitniks: Have we been getting any increased interest from highly ranked '19 or '20 RBs given our new offense is clearly designed to feature them?

Cesare Mellusi called ND his leader after his visit for the UGA game. I imagine we've done nothing but help that with our on field performance. As stated above, it sounds like we are making strides with McIntosh. We got Eric Gray on campus, but didn't offer. I would imagine we are going to be pretty picky with offers for the 19' class.

I'd say the best prospect that we are in truly in it for is Cesare. He's an top tier talent and really likes Denson and ND.

They're talking to a lot of them but I don't think they are any more ahead of the curve than they were with the '18 & '19 class last Halloween. At this time last year, Markese Stepp had been committed for 4-5 months and ND had already made strong runs / were still in it for Jaelen Gill and TJ Pledger followed by an almost commit in Christian Turner a few months later.

As it stands right now, they've offered just 5 RB's in '19. tOSU, Michigan, Georgia all have offered between 10-20.

In the '20 class, UGA and Michigan have offered more RB's than ND has total offers.

2019 offers I'd drop immediately:

Devyn Ford - VA
Jirehl Brock - IL
Daniel Carter - FL
Eric Gray - TN
Wandale Robinson - KY (definitely a APB/Slot type)

Treyson Potts - PA ... If he comes back from knee injury OK

Not Offered
.9818 4* Stephen Herron Jr. - KY - 4h15m - 6/18/16 & 9/17/16 (MICHIGAN)
.9597 4* Steven Faucheux - OH - 4h15m - 4/22/17 & 6/24/17

.8689 3* Shawnkel Knight-Goff - KY - 4h25m - 9/24/16

Pretty impressive job by Elston and staff to get so many of the DL targets on campus. With the amount of talent that ND is in play for I'd have to guess they may go overboard if they can get the right guys and take 4-5 studs. I don't think they'll be a huge need in numbers but if Jowon Briggs, Joseph Anderson, Jacob Lacey, Mazi Smith, and Beau Robbins want in then it might be hard to turn them away. I sure do hope that ND offers Stephen Herron Jr and Beau Robbins. Herron is a Michigan commit but he goes to an all-boys Catholic school in Louisville that is academically strong and has all the academic offers you're looking for (Stanford, Vanderbilt, Michigan). As for Beau Robbins I think he's a Devin O'Rourke waiting to happen and we seem to have the numbers to fit guys like that so we might as well take them.

Good work. The bold's in top are who I think they'll really work. The bold's in the second section are who I hope they go after. Like you, I think Herron is a great player and he seems to be an absolute RKG off the field also. Love Howard Cross' film but he's a little short. Bill Norton is an absolute nasty beast. It's like watching 80's football. JJ Weaver probably doesn't have an offer because he'd commit on the spot. Love his film and he's a real athlete, good basketball film too. Definite want for me.Marcus Hicks seems to have a strong connection with the staff because his name comes up all the time... on the flip side of that is Beau Robbins. He was supposed to be a life long fan, and his recruitment was going to be a hot one and... thud, nothing. Waiting for him to compile a Jr film after the season. As far as you Devin O'Rourke comparison, I'd go John Waggoner. O'Rourke is a pay grade up from Robbins and a true, can't miss SDE.

As for some other guys to know:

3* ... Spencer Bono - Cincy Elder - visited

Wiltfong with the CB to Ohio St after they offered today. James has 1500 yds rushing, 200 yds receiving and 20 TD.

<iframe class="twofourseven-embed" style="max-width: 100%" frameborder="0" width="600" height="200" src="https://247sports.com/PlayerSport/Sampson-James-at-Avon-203421/Embed"></iframe><script async src="https://assets.247sports.com/Scripts/SkyNet/Shared/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

RB Sampson James one to watch out of Avon HS in Indy. Ran for @ 600 yds last year sharing carries with Bryant Fitzgerald now an OLB at Indiana.

Has almost 282 yards through two games including 141 / 2 TD against #1 Ben Davis.

Hopefully he brings teammate & Wiscy commit, Issac Guerendo w/ him. Always nice to stay in touch with WR's that fast in case Porter/Keys don't work out.

Sounds like we could wrap up most DL recruiting pretty early according to Loy and Sinclair.

DT- Jacob Lacey
DT/SDE- Hunter Spears
SDE- Joseph Anderson
DT/NT- Mazi Smith
DT- Rodas Johnson

That would leave us with one spot for a WDE. Finally a good mix of talent and depth along the DL.

Since when did ND get better at recruiting DL than OL?

lucky a lot of the top tier guys high 4*'s like us and seem to be a good fit academically/culture fit for ND---these guys were also pretty high on us even during the 4-8 season
