I'm a Browns fan and this is where I'm at although I'm happy the 1st pick wasn't Darnold. Of the quarterbacks, I preferred Mayfield coming into yesterday.

I preferred Baker as well, considering that I hate USC, think Allen is/was a terrible fit for the Browns and Rosen is a entitled whinny bitch.

If they don't want Chubb, fine. But Minkah would have been a better DB pick.

Cleveland can nail their draft with those three Round 2 picks. Maurice Hurst, Connor Williams and best available RB would be my choices. #1 would have been Mayfield or Darnold, who will take another year. Rosen has baggage. Allen? At #4, Ward is the top cover corner. However, Cleveland should have taken Buffalo's offer to trade down at 4.

Think of who they passed up the past few years at quarterback to wind up with Baker Mayfield.
At 1 no less.

As an avid Ohio State hater, I find it very appealing that the man who planted an OU flag in the middle of Ohio Stadium is now the potential hero for NE Ohio. Delicious.

I’m like, “damn these guys won’t even be fun to play with in Madden, at least Barkley would have been fun on PS4 before busting out.....”

Scrambling around with a mobile QB isn't fun???

Only thing I can figure is they are trying to get ahead on the philosophical shift they feel is going to happen with more read option, cfb styled offenses so draft a super quick DB and a QB that can actually run that offense... any other line of thinking is plain wtf?!

This is still the only thing I can figure... they have a plan they didn’t just randomly pick guys against the grain... they must foresee the RPO becoming a major shift moving forward...

Yeah at this stage they should have just taken Wentz...

Ward at 4 was a surprise.

Chris Ballard got three second-round picks from the Jets to move down three spots, still gets Nelson.

Smith in the Bears' defense under Fangio: Yes. Best tackler in the draft and can cover the pass like a safety. Super fun guy to watch.

49ers snag McGlinchey, Chucky gets screwed.

Penny's reaction to Seattle drafting him is what it is all about.

Chargers get Derwin James at 17? Great value.

Ravens and Patriots did well for themselves.

Bills taking Edmunds was a better pick than taking Josh Allen at 7.

Interested in my boy GATTs thoughts...

I hate both picks. Mayfield is an unnecessary risk and Ward was fucking reeeeeeach. I would never ever take a CB top 10. Terrible asset management.

A second round of

33 Guice
35 Landry
64 Malik Jefferson

Might be enough to salvage that shit 1st round.

Also Connor Willians blows.

Yes it's absolutely ridiculous. We're just supposed to blindly trust the FO because they get paid to do this blah blah blah. As if we haven't just watched 20 years of front offices fuck up over and over again. "This time is different though!"

OSU homerism and blind Browns fandom are blinding these idiots.

It's not the BM pick, it's not the Ward pick... it's both together that gets me... Trying to really live up to the whole Cleveland Brownies thing?? #teammidget...

Browns did not disappoint - holy WTF. Two top 5 picks and they pick two consensus NOT top 5 players? I can deal with Mayfield but the OSU DB at #4 was just stupid when there is little doubt they wouldn't lose much relative to what would be there at DB early second round OR the probability the guy would be there if they traded down.

Reps to Indy and Jets. Baltimore moving up to #32 to get fifth year option on Lamar is a solid move too.

Imagine if Browns took Barkley and Chubb, then traded to #32 to take Lamar - much more impressive move with so much less pressure on the QB. B/C they know what a franchise QB looks like LOL.

I personally didn't like the picks, but I think fans and talking heads declaring winners and losers in the draft before anyone has played a down to be a bit silly. People thought that Leaf was a better QB than Manning, that taking Mario Williams ahead of Bush was a bad move and the Eagles giving up a ton of picks to get Wentz was a terrible idea. If BM turns out to be the guy, the Browns will be set for the next 10+ years.

What Analytics Say About Baker Mayfield

who knows in the end, but analytics love Mayfield. Great article here.

As a Browns fan, I would rather have Ward and Landry than Chubb and Josh Jackson.

.. I .... Like what Rosen said...?? He should use that as a motivator, if he were, "I'm just glad it's over..." That would have been a much bigger red flag to me.

i like Rosen's attitude personally. am interested to see how he goes in the pro's.

My problem with it is that he seems so up-and-down with where he's at mentally.

In one interview he wants to play the chill intellectual (and he makes really valid points and has great conversation when he does that).

In another interview he acts like the guy with all the swag and like nothing can get through his exterior.

In yet another interview he acts like the pissed off guy with the chip on his shoulder.

Usually guys like that don't balance things well when they start to flare up or go off the rails.

A guy like Darnold is going to be chill 100% of the time, and he's not gonna get worked up about things. If he finally blows up, you know it's something legit. Mayfield is going to constantly be a threat to boil over, but at least you know that and can channel that whenever he flares up.

A guy like Rosen? You don't know what you're going to be dealing with on a day-to-day if things are going downhill. Is he going to pull the franchise along with him and keep the chip on his shoulder? Or is he going to turn into the detached guy that knows there are things more important than football out there when it becomes convenient?

I'll be interested to see how the Giants use Barkley. If one of these two things do not happen:

-He completely changes his game from running to avoid contact to running right at it to get positive yardage.
-The giants use him more heavily in the passing game than in the running game

and the Giants just use him as a typical every down workhorse, then I'm calling it now, he'll be one of the bigger busts of the draft. If either of those two thing happen and are major factors next season then yeah, it could be interesting and fun to watch.

Bears missed on Q but got their next HOF MLB as a consolation... hopefully he'll match Q Pro Bowl for Pro Bowl.

Also soooooo excited to see who I get to add to the lost picks it took to get Trubisky.

Could have had Deshaun Watson (or Mitch if the 49ers were bluffing)
Plus...
JuJu smith w/ the 2nd rd pick given up
Cooper Kupp w/ the 3rd rd pick given up
A good OL/DL today in the 3rd

I hate the NFL and the McCaskey's

But I love my Bear-fan friends, pizza, hot dogs, beef sandwiches and cold beer... that's what keeps me going on sundays.
