John Ross unofficial 4.22

He also mentioned he tore his labrum in the Stanford game (and is having shoulder surgery soon to repair it). After the Stanford game, he not only went on to play 9 more games, but caught 60 passes for 873 yards and 12 TD's. He'll now be a 1st round draft pick in 6 or 7 weeks.

Under BK, he would have had to miss the entire season, and probably the spring and summer as well, due to a torn labrum.

GATTACA!

It's about to get gross

Montana was a 4.7 something, which may have been relatively faster in his generation. But Tom Brady? He ran a 5.28 40-yard dash with a 24.5'' vertical leap!

I doubt Kizer even practiced the 40. I believe he was probably faster in high school, guessing he was mid-4.6's. Like Jarious Jackson. Of all Irish QB's since 2000!

Vince Young? 4.58.

Am thinking Steve Young and Cam the only legitimate, top NFL QB's with sub 4.5 speed? Don't know if it helped or if the relied much on it when they got in the league, except to save their own lives.

Cam ran a 4.6

Michael Vick ran a 4.33

Of course speed helps.

Especially if the offense he'll be running utilizes it.

The reason I bring this up is because the comparison he's brought up against is Cam.

Why does everyone want him to go in the 1st round so badly!?

I just personally don't see it.

I think he has much less potential than Quinn.

Don't be mad I'm just with Farrell. That's all. And yes Goff does suck. But he's faster than Kizer.

I love Brady Quinn but Kizer has FAR more potential then Quinn.

Yeah I heard an interview with him yesterday that he is having surgery next week.

Did not watch Kizer throw today. Sadly it seems he was not very good. Accuracy and mechanics still a major issue

Completely overrated how they throw at combine. Cam was terrible. Which is why agents generally tell top QB's to pass up throwing at combine and do it at pro day with receivers he's familiar with. Pro day performance and individual workouts will be far more important.

Uh... Elaborate

Simple. Downfield passing accuracy. In his two years as a starting QB he rated dead last in the league in downfield accuracy (which is defined as throws 20 yards or more). If you can't make those throws you'll have a short NFL career.

His college resume shit on Kizer's IMO.

Throwing at the combine can be overrated (poor timing with unknown receivers). But mechanics and how the ball comes out of your hand are what they are, combine, back yard, at ND pro day. So if he has issues in relation to those things it is not going to change by NDs pro day.

To add: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/deshone-kizer-fails-to-impress-during-his-nfl-scouting-combine-workout-214321666.html

And for NFL coaches that is all fixable. Rarely does a college QB come out of college with great mechanics. They all have to be coached. Part of the process. Right now they are looking for certain traits. Arm strength to make necessary NFL throws, can he read the field, how does he process information, leadership qualities. Texan coach Bill O'Brien said the two things he's most interested in seeing from the QB's at the combine is the interview and the medical reports.

And that's why you aren't an NFL scout because your comment is pointless.

Why do you always respond like this? I disagree with the original opinion too, but there's no reason to respond to his post like an asshole.

Any one surprised he was never suspended for failing multiple drug tests?

Nope.

And Rueben Foster got sent home. He also had really poor interviews. Just a typical Alabama player IMO

NFL scouts are agreeing with me on Kizer right now.

I like Kizer just not to that level.

What's your pedigree that makes you superior?

Combine informed mock drafts should start rolling in now. Below is a free version from The USATODAY.

NFL mock draft 3.0: Who's rising after combine?

Of Note
1. Garrett - Browns; after his combine performance it would be stunning if he didn't go #1
2. Allen - 49ers
12. Trubisky - Browns
13. Kizer - Arizona Cardinals - notes copied below
"He's 6-4, 233 pounds and comes with a big arm and an agile mind — similar attributes to previous Bruce Arians disciples like Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck. However unlike that trio, Kizer needs a lot of seasoning — his inconsistency during combine drills mirrored his 2016 season — and he's hardly ready to start Week 1. But Arians and GM Steve Keim know they need to be prepared for whenever veteran Carson Palmer is ready to pass the baton, which could be in 2018."

No QB off the board until Watson at pick 10, which would be...unusual? Surprising? I just don't see that happening.

"Combine-informed" yet they put the guy with arthritic shoulders at #2?

The Jonathan Allen news is disappointing. I wouldn't go near that now.

Jamal Adams seems like he's everything you want in an NFL safety.

Very deep DB and TE class. Key special teams contributors.

I'd stay away from QBs in the first round this year. If you're wrong, you're wrong. Including Kizer. Way more value down the line. Considering the state of their franchises, CLE/SF/CHI have some balls if they draft a QB where they're at. Especially the Bears. That regime is now on thin ice.
