My cousins wouldn't cry because of a Presidential and, get this, would have learned not to generalize an entire god damn generation on anecdotes and confirmation bias.

You act like liberals don't call these clowns out. People like Bill Maher certainly do.

Cool another stupid generalization, this time wrapped in a borderline conspiracy. And these wimps are the delusional ones?

Most college kids don't care about politics. They want booze, sex, and job prospects. But you'll have to forgive the overwhelming liberal feel of colleges, they have things like science and math and that is anathema to the GOP's position on things like climate change, balanced budget, etc. And you really can't blame them when the GOP is behind on social issues like equality for gays.

You started with the generalization about my generation being responsible for raising these folks.
The butt hurt is strong in you. You should have taken some time with some play doh or joined a cry in.

And here I thought "So if you want to point fingers" meant exchanging one dumb generalization for another.

West Virginia Clay County Rep and Mayor's Racist Post About Michelle Obama Causes Backlash - ABC News

I guess the MSM might be making this a bigger deal than it should be?

Stupid comments like these from a pair of yokels make me want to curl up in a safe tree and cry.

We all did descend from apes, didn't we?

Yes we did.
Hopefully that yokel will be removed from office quickly. Not a big fan of the Obamas, but I hate prejudice rednecks, or prejudice anywho...

No...that would be a racist comment...and would take a backwards jackass to say shit like that.

I wasn't real fond of the first lady myself, because I actually think she meant it when she said "for the first time..."

But you see she doesn't do much flame throwing, so the other things she does outweigh my initial impression, if you will.

It is hard for me to even picture someone who really thinks like that comment, so I gotta figure this person is trying to say the most offensive thing she can think of to be a troll. I guess my point is, I understand having had a beef with the first lady, but I just don't understand how reducing your frustration to something that immediately invalidates your point, and destroys the world's view of your character...helps anything. So I am left to think this is a true racist, or she is so miserable and caustic to the rest of society...she may as well be.

Actually this type of bullshit isn't hard to find in various GOP circles. Remember that dipshit Marilyn Davenport? Hell even Colin Powell (one of the five black guys in the GOP establishment) came out and condemned the GOP for the crap they engage in.

CLP is one that I really hoped would run for POTUS one day. Too old now, but I wish he'd get back into the game in some form or another.

I don't think he ever had any burning desire to be president. He was willing to accept the nomination (which was pretty much offered to him) in '96, but wasn't driven to be president the way, let's say, Hillary was. His wife definitely DID NOT want to be first lady and have what little private life they had taken away by him being president.

Because the penalty on the mandate hasn't been enough to get enough young healthy people to sign up.

Who's responsible for that chestnut?

It was done by the people that wrote the now unAffordable Care Act to gain acceptance. Promoted like Bernie's free college for everyone.

In '14 it was $2.
In '15 it was $325.
In '16 it's $695.

Which party wrote the bill?

Which party set the penalties?

Really BGIF? Maybe you are missing Italics. Lol. I don't think these yokels are the type of people who "believe" we are evolved primates in the first place soooo... I guess they really are using Ape in the same way the racists use "Ape" to degrade black people.

It's funny because we are all primates but because a certain group of people refuse to believe the truth they choose to use that fact to hurt another human being while being oblivious to the same being true for them

This something that popped up recently from a conservative cartoonist:

michelle2.jpg

Notice that Michelle is shown as intimidating, muscular and even has what can only be described a "bulge" compared to Melania. But go ahead and deflect true things by being dismissive of those intended targets.

It isn't progression and it isn't the norm.

Just keep in mind, your generation raised em. So if you want to point fingers, you guys are the world's worst parents in history.

That is the most idiotic statement, but let's say it's true. If so, then we can blame our parents generation for raising us the way they did and they can go back to their parents, etc., etc.

Those two are idiots. I wonder what her reaction will be when MO runs for office?

Does anyone else envision "Make America Great Again" becoming a rallying cry for a kind of new patriotism like the country saw during the bicentennial? It works as a universal greeting and expression of goodwill, like "roll tide" or "mahalo." The kid cutting your grass does a great job so you give him a good tip and say "make America great again." You agree to sell your motorcycle to the neighbor and everyone agrees on a fair price so you shake hands and say "make America great again."

Rand Paul, on the possibility of John Bolton for Secretary of State:

Our Constitution and our founding fathers were explicit war was not to be fought without the permission of Congress. No matter which party occupies the White House, I will not shrink from my constitutional duty to oppose any advocate for war.

The true statesmen realizes, with reluctance, that war is sometimes necessary but as a country, we should resist any would-be leader who wants to bomb now and think later.

In our house, when something good happens it's not uncommon to hear a quick MAGA or a God. Country. Notre Dame.

Fair enough. I hadn't heard the Trump quote from last night. Even so, he's been calling for calm and was calling for an insurrection in 2012.

But, yes, Slate is being partisan by running the pieces. I agree. I just think it's worth pointing out that it's two different writers.

Slate is ALWAYS partisan. Hopefully they are one of the fake news publications that is getting the axe from Google and Facebook.
